[Discussion] People being Impolite.

So as some of you may know I had hip surgery on Aug 15th. Because of this I am in a wheel chair/crutches. I attend college and my school is not very accomidating for handicap people they have about 3 elevators and doors that arent easy for people in wheel chairs/ crutches to get through without help. Now dont get me wrong there are some people who are very nice and offer to help me (even when I dont need it). However today this guy opened the front door enough so I could get through but then only opened the second door enough for him to get through. He knew I was right behind him and that I was going in the same direction as he was.... now I'm not saying he needed to hold the door for me but I thought at least he would open it enough for me to squeeze through. Some people I know use the excuse that they are in a hurry or "didnt know" but I mean come on!

I guess I'm turning this thread into a "what would you do thing" would you make sure a handicapped person got through a door/ where they needed to go no matter what was going on? and if you saw someone being inconsiderate would you say something?

Well what he did was a douche move, even if he was in a hurry 10 seconds of holding a door open isn't going to make any difference.
And i hope you recover fast [=

yess I'm a female... and I'm not gunna lie... I was pretty mad... I yelled at him a bit (maybe a little more then a bit)... but yea it was pretty clear that i was going in the same direction as he was. idk what he prob was.

Handicapped or not, I always open the door for others, old, young, ne race, man or woman etc. No exceptions.

Maybe he simply forgot or he was a total ****

BTW: Don't think on that n e more.

u shudda whacked him with one of your crutches.. it's not like he's gonna hit you back so it was pretty much a free shot

No matter what the person looks like I always hold the door open for someone who is handicapped (or if they just need help in general)... its rude if you dont... nice gestures (no matter how small) go a long way.

If i were trying to impress a girl it certainly wouldnt be on a forum.

I was simply stating a fact.

Besides whats wrong with trying to impress somebody of the opposite ***? Its human nature
