Is there anyone else who thinks that Pele should stop talking ?

He's old quotes

I'm better than Maradona
I'm better than Messi
Neymar better than Messi and Ronaldo.
Neymar better than Messi few more times

some other rubbish I dont remember feel free to add

New

Brazil's 1970 World Cup winners better than Spain
and
It's time to give the Ballon d'Or to Casillas

Quite obvious what he ment by that.... I think media should simply save him from emberasing himself :sy: Even if it's true for someone, it's not something to say world wide.. same goes to Maradona... damn old bagas

I'm better than Maradona

IMO, I think he was better than Maradona but still, Pele got better teammates.

I'm better than Messi

Possible but it's a futile argument. One that we'll never be able to prove.

Neymar better than Messi and Ronaldo.

He lost it but then again, all Ex-brazilian legends overhypes Neymar.

Neymar better than Messi few more times

Same as above.

Brazil's 1970 World Cup winners better than Spain

I agree U_U Spain are great but they didn't dominate this Euro and nearly lost it against Portugal. On the other hand, 1970's Brazil was a bulldozer of talents.

My favorite National team to watch will remain Cryuff's Holland in my eyes though. Even though, Cryuff also speaks shit sometimes

That's why Zidane will remain my favorite. Out of the greats like Pele, Cryuff, Maradona, Platini ect..., he's the one who's most humble and with most common sense.

It's time to give the Ballon d'Or to Casillas

Well, he definitely is worthy of a Ballon D'Or. It's far from a sacrilege if a great goalkeeper like Casillas bags it. Then again, he forms part of the long list of players who deserve one but who probably won't get one. Sucks but it's like that.

Doesn't change a fact that what ever he slams is just pathetic, Pele: I just remind you Messi that you still not better than me after he won Ballon d'Or, I just remind you that Neymar is better than you, I just remind the world that my Brazilian team is better than Spain after they won 3'd major title in a row.. and who the fukk needs those reminders or opinions? Hes scared that he will be forgoton.... old man needs to start giving credits and support reality not dive into history.

dude pelé will never be forgotten, but yeah he gotta stop saying that neymar is better than messi, because right now he isn't, but i believe that if neymar comes to europe and grows as a player and if the brazilian media stops overrating him he will become one the best players of his generation

I agree. I'd +rep you but I can't now. Zidane truly is my favourite for that reason. He's the best player in the last 20 years 'cause he's so versatile, and..well just awesome. I saw too few Cryuff's games to judge him.

Btw is there any link to Pele saying those things? I really doubt he'd say he's better than Maradona or Messi. That's just arrogant lol.

But he's right about Brazilia. Even Brazil from 1998 and 2002 was better than current Spain. Always when I watched them playing they were so overpowering during the whole match that there wasn't a doubt in my mind that were they truly gonna win or not.
Casillas is also a huge reason why other countries have a hard time scoring against them. Brazil has never even had an outstanding goalkeeper like Casillas.

And why wouldn't the golden ball belong to Casillas?

I can see Ronaldo like this when he hits 40-50 and onU_U

Regradless Pele being better than Messi still remains, but better than Maradona has always been a good debate. There are many who prefer Maradona over Pele, because unlike Pele who would was surrounded by many stars, Maradona had done a lot of things single handily for Argentina and the success he bought for Napoli. He obviously had a team, but not like Pele/Messi/Ronaldo do.

Neymar? No not even close to Messi/Ronaldo. He isn't even as good as Villa/Rooney/Torres yet alone comparing him to MessiU_U

Maradona said it best (about Pele) I posted this before, "They need to change the medication they are giving to that idiot."

Brazil better? Well, Pele believes they were better because Spain had only 2-3 good players compared to his Brazil team who had about 8-10. This argument is flawed in so many ways, Spain don't have 2-3 good players and even if it did than kudos to them for having won this treble (three major competition) with only 2-3 talented players this makes this team much better than Brazil than.

Spain haven't conceded a goal in 3 KO stages in major competition since the last one was in 2006. They won a treble, which Brazil hasn't done a long with it. This team is the team of the century, but is it the best? This will always remain an argument unless we see another WC for Spain in Brazil would exceeded them past Brazil for sure, but as of now will remain a debate and can go either way.

Casillas ballon? We know why Pele said that because he would;t want Messi to make another history by winning 4 in a row. Casillas does deserve ballon, but my vote is still with Iniesta.

That's why Zidane will remain my favorite. Out of the greats like Pele, Cryuff, Maradona, Platini ect..., he's the one who's most humble and with most common sense.
He's great, but Iniesta will overtake him and he already knows its coming.

"Iniesta is really impressing me," the 39-year-old told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope. "He's got so much influence in Spain's game. He reminds me of myself, but he is more pale than me!

Pale than me? You already see him getting threaten by the thought of a smaller/less strength midfielder coming for the title. Iniesta is the most humble footballer today. He barely talks about Barcelona/Madrid, or anyone else for the matter. He doesn't care about individually glory he said it before the final he'd rather win the Euro than the MVP of Euro. Iniesta has been compared to Messi/Ronaldo. Silva stats Iniesta is better. Many coaches around the world prefer Inesita over Messi/Ronaldo. The way he's going at the end of his career he'll be past Zidane, with more accomplishment and heavy influence both country and club wise.

Pele, Neymar is nowhere near the level of Messi or Ronaldo.

Neymar plays in the top league in Brazil, this league is not a patch on La Liga. If Neymar came into La Liga he would be a good player, near the level of Robihno. Robihno is defintely a very good player, but Ronaldo and Messi are multiple levels above him and every other player around at the moment (excluding Iniesta and Xavi). It's easy for Neymar to stroll around in Brazil and be the best there is in that league (like Pele did), but that's because there isn't many young Brazilians at his level in terms of skill. To be the best you have to prove yourself in Europe, like Ronaldihno and Ronaldo did.

Pele played in Brazil and America in his career, never moving to an elite league in Europe. For this reason, I'm not sure if he is better than Messi or Maradona, I think Messi is better than Maradona btw. Don't get me wrong, there was definitely good players playing at the same time as Pele in Brazilian leagues, but nowhere near the level there is now. Messi is scoring consistently in arguably the best league in the world right now. It seemed to me like Pele enjoyed sitting back and being the best in Brazil, never challenging himself in any way at all until the big bucks in America came calling in the 70s.

If Neymar does move to Europe and prove himself to be the best, I retract everything I've said, but until then Pele should just be quiet and enjoy his older years instead of making statements like that.

Please, Iniesta isn't near Zidane's level.

Just look at this vid:

I have never seen Iniesta being that versatile on the field, or as skillful. The vid just proves Zidane is one of the best if not the best player of the last two decades. Comparing Iniesta to him is just not right.

From the former stars you could maybe compare him to Totti or Nedved. But players like Zidane, Rivaldo, brazilian Ronaldo are/were in the class of their own.

Maradona said it best (about Pele) I posted this before, "They need to change the medication they are giving to that idiot."
Again I'd like to see the source for such claim.

Iniesta may win all the titles he can but he'll never surpass Zidane skill-wise.

In fact, there's absolutely no playmaker right now with the ability to surpass Zidane.

Side Note: Iniesta is humble and talented but I'd like to see him as Barca's captain someday where he can show leadership skills.

Are you accusing me of false information?

and you wanted to hear Pele other arrogant comments.

And theres others were he says Messi needs to score 1000 goals before he gets compared to me, or win the WC. Maradona and him have always had rivalry.

Please, Iniesta isn't near Zidane's level.

I'll be responding to Escorp and this in our General chat, just stop by there. We will eventually go off topic here, as this is a discussion about Pele comments.

Pele is my favourite football player ever and he is the best football player of this Century, I love his techniques and fast moving skills lot, I don’t think there are any players who can replace Pele’s place in the football history.
