"Now then, onto the method of genjutsu which just so happens to be the type of genjutsu the ocular powers of the Sharingan aren't able to see through, hypnotic techniques. We're discussed how genjutsu affects the five senses, however that isn't the only reality of genjutsu pardon the play on words.

Genjutsu, Yin-release, deals with capturing the mind through the utilization of your spiritual chakra. The mind encompasses more than the five senses for the user to control. With enough skill and mastery over genjutsu you can even hypnotize and control your opponent to your whim. Of course this is highly advanced genjutsu that is hardly explored by ordinary shinobi. There are few techniques that even I know within this realm.

Uchihas however, their incredibly high affinity to their Yin chakra makes even this field of genjutsu a cake walk for them. There are quite a few hypnotic genjutsu in the arsinal of the Uchiha. Should you meet their gaze it's practically over if they cast one on you unless you're strong enough to resist the mind control or have a great deal of skill yourself. As I'm a Yamanaka my mind based ninjutsu works in a close semblance to hypnotic genjutsu, however my techniques require I project my entire spiritual being directly into my opponent in order to control them, and even then shinobi could resist it.

Nevertheless, as the Uchihas may be able to cast these illusions without much problem they, themselves, cannot 'see through' them as they would any other visual illusion. Since these techniques are not visual and pertain to the mind itself it requires high mental fortitude to resist. Essentially, if you manage to come across a slow acting hypnotic illusion if you're clear enough in mind and resolve you can release this before it gets to the point of no return.

I won't ask you to give me examples, I'll simply ask if you have any questions about hypnotic illusions or genjutsu in general before we continue. After this we'll be learning techniques."

Once you place your hand in Shin's he releases his chakra into you, placing you completely within his control. Your weak mind becomes overwhelmed rather easily. Your body is completely absent of your spirit as Shin clutches you within the hypnosis.

Description: The user of this technique, upon casting on a stationary opponent with physical contact with them, is able to convince the enemy to give away information. However, this will only work on ninja two ranks lower and below than the caster.

"You'll remember everything that has happened to you once I release this illusion but for the time being you're completely under my spell. Everything I say to you right now registers only as commands that you will follow. What this illusion does is essentially create a hypnotic state and programs you in a specific way to hear and understand my words, however, the only action you'll take will be from when I ask you a question, which you will be obliged to answer. This is a technique used for information gathering only and it is one of the two hypnotic illusions that I spoke to you about. I can't make you do anything else other than to divulge information.

This technique works only on those considerably weaker than yourself, which is why I said you're unable to use this technique on me. Being a Yamanaka and a shinobi who has mastered genjutsu achieved levels of experience and mental fortitude that will take you years to come close to I could resist your attempts by sheer effort alone. This isn't me boasting so much as a fact. I mean it is boasting but it is fact. Now then I'll give you an example of this techniques abilities. Just some basics I won't make you a traitor to your village or anything...

What village are you allied to, and who is it's Kage?

Which Bijuu do does your village have?

Who are your closest comrades in the village?

Have you ever killed another?

Are you a virgin?"

Shin asks a series of questions in which you'd be obligated to answer.

Entirely caught within sensei's illusion, Ithnan finds himself drawn to answer each and every question asked of him.

"I am an Ame ninja. Our kage happens to be the sole jinchūriki in the village; I believe she has the Nanabi. Closest comrades? I have no one I am close to. I occasionally kill ants, sometimes even cockroaches. No, I am no cherry boy."​

"Hmph, you're at least a virgin shinobi. Killing ants and bugs doesn't really count but I guess the point has gotten across none the less" After that Shin released the illusion on you, allowing your mind to return to it's body and full control out of the hypnotic state.

"Alright, so that gives us one half of the hypnotic curriculum. You can consider that the first technique you've learned aside from kai, though you'll have a difficult time using this one practically. With that we're going to get into the first method of techniques. Take a seat." Shin sat with his arms and legs crossed and expected you to do the same.

"From here on your training will be in emulation. Like I did with you a moment ago, you will experience an illusion I cast upon you, however once you're certian of the properties of that illusion you shall release the technique and then simply recreate the illusion yourself against me. We will be using the Ram seal as the medium. This will allow us to cast our illusions (aside from techniques requiring specific seals, which you will mimic as you see me) and it will allow us to use Kai once we are trapped and wish to get out of it.

The first method, of course, is paralysis."

After Shin spoke he projected his chakra into you to cast an illusion. Several purple flowers begin to sprout up before you from beneath you. You feel your body restricted and unable to move. You have no control over your movements, your desire and will to move are no longer existent in the illusion.

"Focus on what senses you find are being affected and how this feel, release the illusion and then re-create the technique against me."

Placed under sensei's illusion, Ithnan notices the emergence of several purple flowers from beneath his feet. As the flowers appear, he also finds it harder and harder to move. Keeping in mind the training plan, Ithnan does not panic and simply takes in the changes brought about by the illusion. Almost as soon as he'd felt he understood the workings of the illusion, he found he could move his hands enough to form the Ram seal and release the illusion. Casting his gaze towards Shin, Ithnan proceeded to return the favor and directed some chakra towards his idle sensei. Directly affecting Shin's nervous system, Ithnan recreated the experience he'd felt just a moment ago; purple flowers emerged from the ground and Shin's movements were curtailed. Also, he keeps his eyes focused, awaiting the formation of the Ram hand-seal

"Is that it? If genjutsu is derived from practical situations, what does the emergence of flowers have to do with paralysis?"​

Once the flowers began to emerge in front of Shin awaited for the moment of paralysis. The moment he felt his body restricted, he used Kai to release himself from the weak illusion, his hands already in the ram hand seal to begin with.

"It's a technique that was created by a member of my clan. She's of this current generation's Ino-Shika-Cho. She's a strong kunoichi, I would only guess that the flowers are meant to distract the eye away from the user while another agent of generic paralysis binds the body. Anything else?"

"Damn, something just occurred to me. There were a few things I forgot to mention in terms of how one releases genjutsu. There are a few more ways for a shinobi to break genjutsu and all these methods technically fall within the category of external chakra flushing, i.e using an external force to release yourself from chakra. They are as follows

Natural energy
Orochimaru style Curse Sealing
Bijuu/Bijuu chakra
Chakra Absorption

Do you have any insights on the four areas I just mentioned and how they would work to release genjutsu? If not I can take the time to explain them more to you myself."

"Well, all the methods you mention involve one thing: foreign chakra/energy, which is exactly what external chakra flushing is. In essence, they're akin to the method in which one person directs some of their chakra into an ally to dispel an illusion, though they're more useful in that each method can be triggered alone. You can elaborate if you'd like, sensei."​

"Well I supposed these are some hard concepts to grasp considering how advanced they are.

Alright we'll start at the top of the list with Natural energy. To give a brief summery on what that is, natural energy is the energy from nature or rather you could call it nature's chakra to make things easier. It isn't something that exists in an abundance within humans or animals. However, people and other living things can draw this chakra into their bodies and combine it with their own chakra. Those who are able to do this and balance are able to enter Sage Mode. Why is this relivant to genjutsu? Well, as I said before those who enter sage mode draw this chakra into their bodies and not just in small amounts but a significantly large amount, large enough to push out any foreign abstructions such as chakra that causes genjutsu.

Orochimaru's Curse Mark is another prime example. In essence this is the same as the natural energy I just explained. The rouge from my former village, Orochimaru created a sealing jutsu that seals a portion of himself inside of the afflicted. In the case of this seal, this seal also houses natural energy but unlike Sage Mode where certified Sages learn to control the balance of the natural energy flowing through them, those with this curse seal don't and it causes some rather weird looking physical alterations. Nevertheless the idea is the same, when the seal is activated and the outside chakra begins to surge through your body it will push out genjutsu.

Next is Bijuu chakra. Jinchuuriki who have control over the beast inside them are virtually immune to genjutsu. Not to say they can't be caught in genjutsu, however the moment they're caught, their bijuu has the ability to knock them out of genjutsu with their own chakra. Jinchuuriki essentially have two sets of chakra living inside them, their own and the bijuu. Think of it as having a shinobi/comrade always with you.

Lastly we have chakra absorption. Plain and simple, taking chakra from your opponent or another source and surging it into your body. Think natural energy only...not nature's chakra, some other organism's chakra. This is a more parasitic way but it still works.

Most of these don't apply to you; however three of these four ways aren't exactly out of your reach. If by some rarity you manage to come into sage training or learn chakra absorption techniques, you could potentially use these methods to release yourself from genjutsu. However, even if you never learn such techniques there's a great chance you'll be faced with opponents who do in fact have these and it would be prudent if you could understand how their methods work.

"Don't be a kiss ass. Just remember with that method of genjutsu release it only matters that the chakra source dispelling the chakra is outside your own body. It doesn't have to be a foreign entity. Shadow Clones are just as capable of releasing the host body out of genjutsu if they so wish. The influx of chakra just needs to be separate from the chakra that is being affected by the genjutsu"
