Part 1 style of combat or this DBZ-istic stuff?

I remember back when I started reading this manga, the classic tension of fighting with bare hands, using kunais, shurikens and advanced teamwork that seems like child's play in the current events. I also remember the element of surprise when a basic technique like Substituion changed the tide of the battle. It was definitely more realistic and more fun to read/watch. A basic thing like Cursed Seal or a 1 tail cloak seemed like a Godly power that no one could ever reach. And it was fine like that, there was no exaggeration, there was only a feeling of superiority next to mediocre shinobi who couldn't do stuff like that.

What can I say about it now? Absolutely nothing. Escaoing death-techniques, atomic bomb-explosions, surging Super Saiyan auras and Gods that apparently created everything we know about Shinobi world. Well, it wouldn't such a bad idea if there wasn't for the DBZ already, which I watched and watched and watched until my eyes were bleeding. I like that sort of thing but DB universe overused it and Naruto was just a refreshing thing that had some real life elements regarding combat as I said in the previous part. In my opinion, Kishimoto should have stayed on the Part 1's path concerning abilities and powers. Readers and viewers would be a lot more in touch with the story and characters.

So yeah, guys, which do you prefer?

Most of Naruto Shippuden fights weren't DBZ type, Naruto Shippuden style of fights are better

I'm starting to think that people think that Shippuden is just the war...

FRS and Kirin were already DBZ qualified in my book.

I've yet to see a fight in Shippuden that doesn't have some type of explosion or AOE.

What.....u wanted to fight Bijuus with Shuriken??
The first page of Naruto itself says about a beast that creates tsunami with just a swing of its tail.....its just common sense for anyone that the powerlevels will be even higher than that towards the end of the story. And why is it DBZ stuff?....There were many mangas before DBZ with even higher PL than DBZ.
OT: Anything is fine by me, its just a myth that powerlevels affect the quality of the manga anyway. Powerlevel increases in all mangas , nothing new. U_U

Kirin takes like 10 minutes to do and is not very difficult for a strong ninja to evade FRS

And Jiraya had done shit like that in part 1

It would be fine if it was only one beast. A bunch of shinobi fighting one beast could actually defeat it. Also, a single 17-year old dude firing atomic-bombs out of his arms surely qualifies as DBZ stuff.

Team seven training
Kakuzu and Hidan vs Konoha nin
Guren vs others

Team seven training did have AOE Jutsus.
I honestly can't remember this, so I'll give this to you.
Who again?

Great. Two fights against hundreds in this part 2.

It's not a matter of time period. It's a matter of it actually existing if the author started with a cool, borderline real life premise.

We could all accept something like Katon Gokkakyu or something similar to begin with because we were introduced with it like some sort of ultimate technique in that mediocre shinobi world. Now an ultimate technique is for an example, OOdama FRS which can potentially destroy half a country (don't hold the exact words).

Well, though you've gotta admit that even though the PL were higher in part two the fights were much much better.U_U

Did you just state that lightning could be easily evaded by a strong ninja? Lol, top ten people sure, anyone below that is practically one-shotted by that thing.

Well, as much as the powerlevels increased, the battles also changed accordingly. But like I said, it was more fun to watch Naruto and Sasuke try to win with their bare hands, couple of boring techniques and a kunai, along with teamwork, than this.
