I remember back when I started reading this manga, the classic tension of fighting with bare hands, using kunais, shurikens and advanced teamwork that seems like child's play in the current events. I also remember the element of surprise when a basic technique like Substituion changed the tide of the battle. It was definitely more realistic and more fun to read/watch. A basic thing like Cursed Seal or a 1 tail cloak seemed like a Godly power that no one could ever reach. And it was fine like that, there was no exaggeration, there was only a feeling of superiority next to mediocre shinobi who couldn't do stuff like that.
What can I say about it now? Absolutely nothing. Escaoing death-techniques, atomic bomb-explosions, surging Super Saiyan auras and Gods that apparently created everything we know about Shinobi world. Well, it wouldn't such a bad idea if there wasn't for the DBZ already, which I watched and watched and watched until my eyes were bleeding. I like that sort of thing but DB universe overused it and Naruto was just a refreshing thing that had some real life elements regarding combat as I said in the previous part. In my opinion, Kishimoto should have stayed on the Part 1's path concerning abilities and powers. Readers and viewers would be a lot more in touch with the story and characters.
So yeah, guys, which do you prefer?
