lmfao. this coming from the guy who thinks kabuto's character and backstory was more depth than itachi's. get out

Equal. I just relate with Kabuto's more personally and dislike Itachi's writer-favouritism. Kishimoto's anime-bf-of-the-month writing style was strange but i've never said one was more complex than the other. Nothing to oversimplify with an identity crisis.

If lategame motivation reveals are your enemy then Sasuke and Nagato wouldn't be loved as much as they are.

Just because the average Uchiha fan didn't even attempt to understand Obito as a character doesn't mean he's bad lol

Has far more development, psychological unravelling and panel depth than even Pain (another great villain)

Interestingly enough i made a thread about this back in 2013 about all the villains Naruto faced. i'm going to copy paste it here. Let me know what you think.
---------------------(copy/paste below)

Ok i was about to post this in a reply to the other thread with same topic, but just thought that i wrote enough to make a decent thread :p
1st off, the entire Naruto series acts as a stagewise progression for naruto to become "the Sage".
i would like to name a few of them and the traits naruto got from them.
the very 1st stage(Iruka) ......to be able to make friends and try to get into society.
2nd stage(Gaara).....protecting friends no matter how powerful the enemy is and also understanding your opponents way of thinking.
3rd stage(Kimimaru)......again, willing to go through anything to save your friend.
lol stage(Sakura)......some ppl in this world are just useless no matter how hard they try not to be...lolz (you can skip this stage)
4th stage(Asuma).....to live a life without regrets.
5th stage(Jiraya).....never give up, never ever.
6th stage(Nagato)......understand pain,war and suffering.
7th stage(Kushina)......to become hateless.
8th stage(Itachi)......trust your friends and never try to do everything on your own.
9th stage(Minato)......nothing is lost and there is always hope.....*now this stage is pretty much the sum of everthing
while the only stage that naruto has to overcome is
stage 10(Obito)....Despair
stage 9&10 come into conflict with eachother, actually stage 10 comes into conflict with everything naruto has learned his entire life.......how much suffering is enough to make you lose all hope? to feel empty about this world so much that you giveup caring about even yourself.....
I think this is the biggest stage for naruto and it can not get tougher than this, he must overcome it if he wants to become "the Sage", and no other character has something bigger to offer for Naruto's Development.

Madara has nothing to offer, and he feels kinda disconnected to us and the current shinobi generation. He is just going to have some fun with hashirama, and even the gokages told naruto to take care of the "Other Madara(obito)" and leave the hate of the previous generations to them.

Orachimaru, now this guy is such a snake...seriously but the last few times i saw his face he seemed kinda sincere and not "the evil plotish type"....and he might be headed towards the gokages to heal em and make peace with tsunade.

Now, i strongly believe that we need one more epic sad time before the war is over, One last punch from the villan side...
and yes the goat is non other than ours truly "Kakashi-sensei",and i think that is why Kishi made Obito leave the battlefield before the circus came to town.
i can't say exactly how it will play out but Jin-Obito vs Narutoverse is the epic battle we all deserve.

(Note* yes ppl complain about him not having good reasons and stuff but i won't get into that cuz everyone has their opinion but one thing that we all might agree on is that ,in terms of doing villainuis shyt ,this guy surpasses all)

Obito's characterization is epitome of dirt sewer, let alone creating a comparison between him and Pain in villainy is beyond laughable. Anybody claiming to be an Obito fan just likes his abilities, which I find pathetic for liking a character, but if you're going to say you like his character, then I'm sorry to tell you that Obito's character doesn't deliver anything to the series.

Pain was an incredible villain in a sense of how much intimidation he supplied to the audience; from terroristic desires to terroristic destruction he caused with the overwhelming power he wielded. Pain challenged Naruto's ideology and he killed his closest people: Jiraiya, Kakashi and village.

Pain is miles better villain than Obito ever will be, and Nagato has far more interesting characterization than Obito.
