I thought the fight was epic the anime really brought it to life, I didn't see any flaws, deva path vs kyubi was very entertaining also, he was the first character to really hold his own against kyubi. the fight also had a lot of meaning, about how ones hate can drive them to unthinkable heights of good and evil. The fight made naruto realised that nagato was just an ordinary man seeking revenge under the banner of justice (destruction of kohana) , and to rid the world of war through infinite pain (ultimate destruction). Through the whole ordeal naruto over came his hate for nagato in the end, realising that revenge only brings more pain, hate then more revenge, and the only way to bring peace to the world, is through forgiveness, understanding and love.
The fight was kinda faulty in the sense that nagato wasn't really fighting to kill naruto but to capture him alive in order to seal kyubi. As as a result nagato didn't go all out on him but he didn't have no mercy for anybody else, the fight was good in the sense that it had more meaning rather than just skills, techniques and the victor of the fight. Through hate, pain and the zeal to get revenge, the fight also revealed to us why a character like saskue would betray his village and go over to the dark side.
