Him and Obito were the best villains at one point, Obito should have been the main villain of this arc. If Kishi really intended on Madara being the final villain then he should have left him and Kaguya for a second war arc IMO.

How last arc should have been after Kage Summit :

- Sasuke fights Obito, Obito revives Madara before dying in hope of gaining help, Madara helps Obito but then betrays him because Sasuke has more potential, Sasuke helps Madara build an army with the help of Orochimaru and succeeds in collecting all 7 bijuu.

- Naruto vows to protect all villages against them with the help of 5 kages but Madara and Sasuke kill them all (the kages) including half of the shinobi population.

- Naruto and Sasuke have their first encounter but it ends shortly after Sasuke gets his chest blown off by Killer Bee and Naruto gets stopped by DSM Kabuto.

- Eventually Sasuke kills Orochimaru, betrays Madara with Itachi's help and awakens the Rinnegan after an intense fight regarding Uchiha clan values. As Madara's replacement he decides to use the army he built to found a village and continue his quest for world domination and eradication of bijuu.

- However, Madara uses Izanagi and re-gains his double Rinnegan after fighting Edo Hashirama, he then proceeds to use Kabuto's help in re-collecting the bijuu and re-creating IT.

Naruto should of continued like this:
Naruto learning about Sasuke's past via Obito/Tobi
Naruto Sage Mode vs MS Sasuke

Both of them fainting but losing something extremely important: Naruto, maybe Kurama? Sasuke, maybe his MS?

Obito leaves with Sasuke, and Naruto somehow survives.

Ending it there. Naruto the broken hero, Sasuke the scarred Uchiha. Then Kishimoto would of had time to rebuild his failure series he trashed with the war arc.

You need to keep that shit as simple as possible, no God powers. I'm tired of these Rinnegan and SO6P BS. Susano'o and KCM ruined the feel of Naruto for me.

Well maybe I was harsh, but it just sounded like several of the characters were out of character in his version, while the plot was too convenient for Sasuke...-_-

Well I suppose I'm one to talk lols. I'm trying to rewrite parts of Naruto as a fanfiction but having more trouble at it than I thought I would lols. I just want to add a few things in part 1's arcs, however, I also want to add one or two more arcs based on Kishimoto wanting to do two more mission arcs before the chuunin exams. Then there's A WHOLE lot of part 2 I want to change in order to involve and expand on more characters and fix inconsistencies, but I essentially have no idea where to begin lols. I jot ideas down in the form of a diagram, then create a few chapters that never existed. That's about all i know how to do right now. I've started those two extra arcs I spoke of but I'm stumped with how their plots are going to fit in with everything else. The whole ordeal has inspired me to start writing my own stories again however lols. I'm thinking of putting it on hold until the third series is finished.

It wasn't the powers I had issues with, it was some of the characters and plots. Ninjutsu was already titanic with Gamabunta, Orochimaru's snakes, the nine tails, Shikaku, Hashirama and Minato's hype, Tsukuyomi, the Rasengan and Chidori clash, the mass shadow clones, etc in part 1 and I enjoyed it.
