A shriek is heard in the night making Jake rise from his dream.
Jake - Maddie!
A thunder rips the night. He flew from his bed and turned to the girls dormitories, where he found her wet in tears.
Jake - What's wrong Maddie.
He sit on her bed and she felt on his shoulders, holding him.
Maddie - I had a nightmare... about him...
She burst into a new set of tears.
Jake - Oh... Maddie, let it go... he's gone now... you're safe...
Maddie - It was like I was 4 again... I feel he's going to take me away again...
Jake - You're 16 now, you're father won't find you now. Rest, Maddie.
Maddie - Thank you... Please don't leave...
Jake - Don't worry. You know? Today I saw her again
Maddie smiled to Jake.
Maddie - Where?
Jake - It was a forest! You know, I saw the forest burst and grow. It was a tiny dot in the darkness. But it suddenly pop into millions of pretty colours. And as they twisted around, in a flow of a dance. The trees were born. They grew, danced and curled. They revolved around me and around themselves. Brilliant fruits were shinning on every trunk. And out of the trees strange people and animals appeared.
Maddie - Were they bad?
Jake - Bad? Oh now, they were happy! They were dancing, smiling and singing! They spinned around me, laughing. I joined them and started to sing as well. Our chorus was like a birds' symphony. Then I saw her, through the trees. Her laugh made the forest even brighter and happier.
Maddie -
Jake - I ran to her and my feet turned into an exuberant and corky blue bird. She was mounted on a green one. We ride them throughout the forest. Around us there was only a green wall, as the speed allowed us to see nothing but each other.
Maddie closed her eyes and rested her head on Jake's shoulder. He described how both arrived on meadow of flowers. How the flower were beautiful, but not as gorgeous as her. At that point, Mother Superior went to bed again. Maddie was in good hands.
Mother Superior ran from her room to check the scream. She arrived after Jake and saw both. By the door, she witnessed their conversation, smiling tenderly.
Maddie was in fine hands.
As she passed by the Hall, someone knocked on the door. Another thunderbolt scars the night and a silhouette of a man appears by the door.
