Got a little question ...
He has to change bodies every 3 years?

Or at least has to consume a new body every 3 years because the old body would start to reject him ...

Now... ... can he recall powers of his previous hosts?

if not... why bother getting the sharingan?
he would get sasukes body ... but then again .. he would have 3 years to master all the jutsus? good luck with that...

if he can recall powers.... why didn't he consume kimimaro despite his illness?

Powers of previous hosts. Nice point. But it seems he must be having some idea to keep his dream body. And talking about sharingan, he can implant it after changing body.

plus.. if he just wants the sharingan ... he could have caputred kakashi and taken his one sharingan for starters to get used to it so he could really use sasukes ...

he could have also tried to consume a bykugan user first in order to have the ability to disarm sasukes sharingan to reduce the danger of repeating the mistake he made with itachi

I agree. but as you said Oro said he thought of Kimiamaroo's body as his dream body and then sasuke took his place. So if these two were his dream bodies he must have thhought of keeping them for longer time. oro when shifting bodies also took all of his knowledge with him to new body, so maybe he was able to take powers of bodies also. Reps for this point...No one have thought like that...

Oro wanted to learn more and more jutsus, he wanted two things for that. 1)chakra and 2)Enough time.
So he joined akatsuki with want for more chakra but itachi scared him away. So he focused on another aspect. It will take great time to learn every single jutsu, but sharingan provides a shortcut so he needed sasuke. Byakugan cant do that.

indeed byakugan can't copy jutsus ... but .. what if he uses the byakugan to disable sasukes chakra system.... preventing sasuke from using his sharingan

he could have used byakugan to make sasuke easy prey ...


but if he really has the ability to take abilities to the next body ... .. he would be the ultimate supervillain ... all the jutsus? paah boring compared to having a handy set of bloodlines... ^^

Yes byakugan in eyes of oro is formidable...
But you are 4getting one thing, Oro wanted to learn new techs, so disabling sharingan was not a thing he would have ever did...Why dont you bring this point to Naruto Manga section, this one deserves thinking and reps 4 it...
