OROCHIMARU: THE ULTIMATE ANTAGONIST
In this thread i will be detailing/debating why Orochimaru has been the main antagonist throughout the course of the series and the biggest threat to the Narutoverse. This is NOT a thread comparing Orochi to Madara so before you Uchiha fans flame: Madara is naturally stronger than Orochimaru. However, in the ninja world, brute strength is not a pure indicator of lethality. INTEL is just as valuable as raw power. Throughout the post i shall be using:
to make my argument that much more convincing. Please, let's have healthy DEBATE and DISCUSSION. Even if you disagree with me completely, I respect you that much more if you explain why you disagree and provide legitimate evidence to justify your views. At day's end, this is all CONJECTURE and no one is completely right until Kishi says so. (It is Kishi's story ultimately, not ours collectively lol). So without any further ado heres my theory and I'll see you in the comments section!

Point #1: Orochimaru has extensive knowledge of the SO6P
In an era where most people regard the SO6P as myth, Orochimaru knew enough about his lineage to perform countless experiments on his descendants. For example:
- infusing Yamato with Senju DNA, finding a method to subdue Moukuton.

Point #2: Edo Tensei
- Orochimaru mastered arguably what can be considered the strongest jutsu in the series, granting one the power to solo entire COUNTRIES. His extensive knowledge on various jutsu throughout the NarutoVerse makes this technique even more deadly b/c he can revive S class ninja and utilize their techniques.

Point #3: Intel on Legendary Weapons
- Orochimaru has intel on the existence of mythical weapons that have been mentioned very sporadically throughout the series. Very little has been said about these weapons but one can assume that they are extremely powerful.

Point #4: Rebirth
-Even if Orochimaru is killed or sealed, he can be reborn via one of his countless subordinates. Rebirth is something even Madara had difficulty achieving and Oro has been reborn at least three times thus far.
Point #5: Look Ma! No Hands!
- Orochimaru has remained a threat in the Narutoverse even without the ability to form hand seals. For the majority of the series he has been unable to fight at full capacity so one can only imagine what he is truly capable of considering we never seen him take a fight seriously (other than Hiruzen). The last time he had full access to his jutsu..he started a war against Konoha and revived Hashirama and Tobirama.
Theory
In the next arc (s), I feel as if we can expect Orochimaru to be the main and final antagonist. I believe Sasuke will finally overcome his hatred and lust for power and will agree to return to Konoha and be forgiven. However, I think Orochimaru will take control of his body before that occurs and the final battle between Sasuke and Naruto will actually be Naruto vs. Orochimaru in Sasuke's body (think about Riku and Ansem from Kingdom Hearts). Because of his knowledge regarding Rikudou Sennin, i think Orochimaru will upgrade Sasuke's body with Senju DNA along with any other tricks he has up his sleeves. This will be a fitting end to the series, in my opinion.
