Orochimaru was dangerous because of his intelligence and what he could pull off. His strength could very well go over itachi's, but at the moment he's weaker. Probably equal to sasuke or sasuke wins high diff

what pain are you talking about?
okay for 1) itachi didnt trap him with Tsukyomi, it was with a regular paralysis genjutsu and it was itachi who cut his hand off for trying to do what he did to itachi, also when orochi tried, itachi was even looking at him to trap him like that.
Orochimaru is an extremely versatile, intelligent and fearsome shinobi who could beat a huge chunk of the narutoverse, but Itachi is not one of them.
no amount of comparison or anything will matter, he got owned twice with little to no effort on Itachi's part, you could say its a bad match up or whatever but in the end he lost. twice.lol

Sasuke, when sasuke attacked on his deathbed, he barely won. but thats why he attacked, it was strategic on sasuke's part, he knew he wouldnt win in a full match.
Current sasuke, i belive(opinion) would win against orochimaru, maybe MAYBE MAYBE high difficulty, but probably closer to mid-high.

sasuke barley won he didn't do much but put him in genjutsu and reversed his ritual technique even though Oro was weakened sasuke won quite easily

Susanoo would be a problem for orochimaru. Tho he can't technically be "killed" he can be sealing and put in genjutsu quiet easily which would be the reason why he can't beat itachi. I think he could take sasuke tho.

I'm sorry but i have to strongly disagree.

I do however think that we didn't see the full potential of orochimaru although i don't think he was on Itachi level purely because of the Sharingan.

If he was stronger than itachi then he would have already taken over his body which didn't seem to be the case. Sasuke even said himself that he nor orochimaru were strong enough to take itachi on, hence why he was willing to give over his body because he though that with Oro's experience in his body, they would have better shot of taken itachi one.

Orochimaru i think is more the tricky pain in the ass ninja, rather than a strong one. I believe that jiraiya could of taken Oro out given it was a 1 v 1 fight.

Itachi and Sasuke are stronger than full powered Orochimaru, there is nothing to discuss. Orochimaru only once tried to fight Itachi, and it was enough for him to realize that hes inferior. Even though he wanted Sharingan so badly, he didnt try to claim Itachis body again, I think that proves enough.

I think it is merely match-up. The White Snake's weakness to Genjutsu type abilities. Orochimaru is an overall better ninja, with more powerful techniques like Eight Branches and Impure World Resurrection (Maybe a Senju), tanking, etc, but he cannot handle stuff like Tsukuyomi. Notice Kabuto was handling two Uchiha when he didn't have to worry about Genjutsu, but once some super circumstancial Genjutsu that could go around Kabuto's well thought out plans was cast, he lost.

If Orochimaru could find a way to deal with Genjutsu, I don't see Itachi being able to handle him. Remember, no Uchiha has been able to kill him. Obito was seeking him out, Sasuke tried to kill him and even Itachi failed to.

Just because a ninja is more feared than another doesn't mean they're stronger. Prime Oro might be stronger than Sasuke but probably not; Itachi...no and I am not an Itachi/Uchiha Fanboy - honestly we have never seen Itachi really go all out other than possibly him fighting DSM Kabuto. Other wise, Itachi > Sasuke >= Oro

When it comes to book smarts and ninjutsu i believe that Ororchimaru is stronger, but when it comes to battle tactics and genjutsu, Itachi far surpasses Ororchimaru.

Because of Sharigan, Ororchimaru completely outclassed because of those wonderful eyes!
