you mean that big ball rasengan that he used againce pain?if not then he didnt do anything to it.he teached naruto make odama adn after that naruto made the rasenshuriken whit the help of kakashi and yamato.

Hmmm, but in the Naruto games [Which I know may or may not be canon] Jiraiya is shown using the rasengan with like different elements on it like fire and water, also he's able to use two Rasengan at once.
So to say Jiraiya NEVER expanded upon the Rasengan at all is a little questionable.
But yea, Naruto was the first one to expand upon the Rasengan like Minato had intended, by adding the wind element into it, which Jiraiya wasn't able to do because he's a fire type I think.

games are not the reality, like orochimaru can use jutsu`s in the game but not in the manga or shippuuden...
so, J-man may have build upon the rasengan just one bit ( the one he used at pain ) but it is narutos job to make a power awesome rasengan ^_^

Yea, I suppose, but in Orochimaru's case, he knows thousands of jutus, so just because he wasn't seen using it in the manga/anime, doesn't mean he can't use at all.

oh yes it does....just watch the episode when sandaime uses the same jutsu that yondaime used on the nine tail...It`s during the chuunin exam, when oro and sandaime fights...he is stealing his arms ^_^
and then oro says something like: no my arms, and the sandaime says he can`t use any jutsus anymore...^_^

Orochimaru can never use jutsu`s again....both tsunade and sandaime said so ^_^

After the oro/tsunade fight, Orochimaru states he had another way to get his arms back. Meaning as soon as he switches bodies again he'd be able to use his arms. Which is why, during the oro/naruto fight, he was able to use the Sanju Rashomon (Triple Rashomon) summoning jutsu.
