"Think about Oro's point of view. He is an old immortal, almost 100 by the time of Gaiden"

Orochimaru's age in Part 2: 53-54...

So almost 50 years passed by since the war ended huh... Didn't know that. Naruto and Sasuke must look young being in their 60s by the time of Gaiden

Jokes aside, only the future know if Kishi decides to continue this story. Orochimaru always intrigued me though.

Never thought about it this way....Oro was always brains before brawl, he is a tactician, he only fights when necesary, it is true that this plan might work, just like Hiruzen said, he has so much potential, he always had, so he might succed.
Nice theory

This is a good theory. I also want to point out that Orochimaru is most likely in his early 70's. He's like what 38 years older than Naruto's generation and since Boruto's generation is likely 12-13, Naruto and the gang are like in their mid 30's.

He could be waiting for these generations to pass so he can just get himself an easy lift on a shari/uchiha body.
probably not Saradas cuz sasuke maybe probably has some sort of counter measure for oro by now.

Oro is probably stronger in Gaiden. Mitsuki was pretty boastful about Oro's abilities, saying he could beat Naruto and Sasuke. Highly unlikely indeed, but considering how much time has passed, he's had plenty of time to research and make gains in power, his arsenal and physical attributes.

Definitely, i'm sure Mitsuki (biased or not) is mature enough to not going round saying baseless claims like that.

Wait, when was Mitsuki talking about Orochimaru?

The end of Boruto :) end scene credits he claims his dad is stronger than either of theirs. And bias or not, Mitsuki is oddly interested and studious in his classmate's powers & heritage- doesn't seem like a thing he'd just incorrectly throw out there, doesn't strike me as the proud type.
