To start with, biographies.

You'll need to create a thread in the RPG Character Biographies section, using the Template Found in This Thread. If that link didn't work, it's the last post of the thread.

You can have initially two biographies approved, and once they are approved (by a moderator) you are not allowed to edit them in anyway. You may however resubmit them after one month if you feel they need to be updated, but I think I'm getting ahead of myself here.

As for what to create for you first bio, well that's up to you. There are restrictions in place, but I'd rather you tell me what sort of character you were thinking about creating, and I'll let you know how we can make that work.

So have a think about one thing for me: would you like an OC (Original Creation) character (or simply just as a character from another Anime/Manga), or just Role Play as your favourite Naruto Character (Otherwise known as a Canon Character/bio).

For example, I have two biographies. The first is Kenshin Himura; a Custom Character (by all definitions of our RP) which I tool from Rurouni Kenshin. I also have the Seven Tails Jinchuuriki, Fuu. A canon character, meaning there are certain restriction placed upon that bio... and boost too!

I haven't updated them since the RP was refreshed, so they are a little out of date. Just linked them for the sake of it xD

Sweet, so with that in mind, you can go one of two ways. A complete custom, meaning you should get a little more freedom of choices as to your abilities/specialities; or, you could Skin a canon character to look like McCree, meaning you'd be restricted to the abilities of that character but there is the potential to have some stronger combinations.

Check out the first two posts of the ~>Bio Rules Quick Access<~ and maybe pick out one or two things that may fit your character choice. The first post has a table that demonstrates what sort of abilities can be combined and what cannot. The second post details all the Advanced Elements (AE), Advanced Ninjutsu (AN), Hidden Abilities (HA), Modes and Kekkai Genkai/Touta. It also lists rules for individual characters, that will most likely have a Kumi cost attached to them too or some other requirements.

For the looks and personality, you can just take the information from the Overwatch Wikia. History can be whatever you want, just keep it broad and don't relate anything to the Naruto-Lore if you want to use it in the Ninja World, since that is a purely custom arena. With his expert marksmanship and resourcefulness, he was visited by Gabriel Reyes, the head of Overwatch's Blackwatch covert ops division. Reyes gave him the choice between rotting in lockup or joining Blackwatch. McCree chose the latter.

Although he was initially cynical, he came to believe that he could make amends for his past sins by righting the injustices of the world. McCree appreciated the flexibility afforded to the clandestine Blackwatch, unhindered by bureaucracy and red tape.

Okay, so I've edited a thing or two of your bio. Your table had some stray code that I removed and you mentioned Blaze Release... you need Mangekou Sharingan for that xD Replaced it with Blast release, which is I think what you wanted to learn?

So when you're ready, unless you want to add any pictures or theme song from youtube under the respective section, you can go and post it in the ~>RPG Biographies<~ section to await approvel.

Okay, so unless you have any more questions about bios, we'll move onto battling:

You'll more than likely do most of you battles in the ~>Arena<~ where you'll simply make a thread and await someone to accept your challenge. Generally for battles, it's best to get a feel of how they work via simply practising them. Also letting your opponent know you are new will allow them to scale down there efforts and give you pointers as you go.

In the opening post of your battle, in if you've had a look at others, you'll notice them stating a handful of rules:

Standard R&R's (Rules and Regulations, also know as ~>LoK's R&R's.<~)​
You are of course free to alter these rules, by adding things such as: Only two elements or Only Taijutsu/Kenjutsu. However there is a section to place this further down.​
Terrain: You and your partner(s) must decide on a terrain which you will battle on and additionally the weather. This does not mean that the field and weather can't change through the use of a jutsu.​
Generally people will post a picture or even a basic description from the anime, such as: Rocky terrain were Madara and Guy fought.​
Range: Where both of you exactly stand. Short ( 0 to 5 meters ) , medium ( 5 to 15 meters ) or long range from each other (15+ meters) at the start of the battle.​
Element & Jutsu Usage/Type of battle: You can choose which and how many elements you want to use in a battle (from the ones you learned), but also whether custom jutsu's/elements are allowed or not.​
This allows you to restrict you and you opponent to using any number of fields or abilities. You can 'turn off' use of customs if you so choose. Also here where you'd state if it's a ninjutsu only battle or taijutsu only battle. You can even state it's a team battle using both of your bios vs both of your opponent's bios. There is a lot of creative freedom in battles, so let lose and try out different things to see what suits you the most!​

We'll continue with how battles are run... while I sit here and wonder why Drackos is viewing this thread .__.




So battles run in a basic turn-by-turn basis; where in you are each able to use up to three jutsu per turn. However, your opponent may not necessarily allow you to utilise all three jutsu before they alter the time-line of events.

Since you bio is already of a higher rank, you have access to slightly more things than most who would be going through this orientation. So, following what abilities your bio knows/has learned, you can reference the ~>Jutsu List<~ to construct your moves. Generally, you would copy and past them in using the spoiler tags after your RP post.

You said you had experience on another RP forum, so things like powerplaying and godmodding are things you are already aware of and not to do them. However, do you understand what Timeframe is? As a quick overview, it's just the order of events/jutsu that you and your opponent use. Say I start with by spewing out a fireball, then follow up with a wind-stream; you must wait for me to actually perform/use the fireball technique, where in you can put your first jutsu in before my wind-stream in order to counter said fireball.

To put it more plainly;

Shinta: A-rank Fireball
Koto: S-rank Waterball
Shinta: Whichever attack I chose to use. I could just continue with my fire stream or chose to use a different attack.
Koto: can react to Shinta's counter.

However, some people chose to allow multiple move to continue on, uninterrupted.

Shinta: Fireball, followed by Wind stream with the intention of boosting/comboing with the fireball.
Koto: Allow Shinta to make his combination and uses one, stronger waterball to counter.

The benefit of the second series of events, is that I would be expelling more chakra in my attack, than you would be to make a counter.

I already know and understand why you might be a bit more accustomed to this Roleplay than a lot of the other new members taking their orientation but I want to also warn of Proactive Learning, this is when things you've learned in the past interfere with new things your learning. Time frame is the order actions take place in. The first noticeable jutsu or offensive action starts the time frame. Someone breaking out to a Sprint, starting a handseal, Leaping, drawing a weapon, doing an attack in general or using a offensive/defensive jutsu. <- thats when you can act and begin preparation to defend or afterwards you can interrupt. ik this thot.


2. What is required to block, dodge and or avoid a Ninjutsu related technique, what makes this different from Taijutsu.

A dodge technique is required to dodge ( gotta be fast enough too), Only defensive techniques can block, and offensive techs clash. Taijutsu is throwing hands.

It depends on the opponent. If i hate them that's an immediate quote dont @ me. Otherwise I'll talk to them, and if that dont work hit up a mod. i only know 3 steps.

Aint no limit to unofficial battles i assume. Only 1 official battle per bio.

2. Mostly correct, but remember you can dodge Taijutsu Techniques freeform. You can even dodge Nin-Taijutsu freeform. For example Rasengan and Chidori are considered Nin-Taijutsu. In the series we've seen people side step that shit lmao.

It is different for most people but usually it goes like this a) Quote to Lock Opponent In. b) VM conversation c) Decide whether to let opponent edit d) If your in the BA simply contact a sensei, if your in the NW post in the Conflict Resolution Thread which is basically the equivalent of the Staff Checks & Gradings thread on OPB/DoT.

Welp, I guess we can start with the basics of the Ninja World. The Ninja World is the biggest feature of the Naruto Roleplay and it is where the majority of the RP goes down. Missions are conducted in the NW, battles go down in the Ninja World and all types of shenanigans. Think of the Ninja World as a FreeRoam RPG game like GTA V Online, except your a Ninja and you got Ninjutsu. The world is huge there are over 200 landmarks, and each landmark with it's own distinct geological figures. This however is something you should be familiar since it was similar on OPB. However, you don't require anything special to travel from landmark to landmark (although certain artifacts can make travelling easier). You can only travel to next adjacent landmark, and travel time is 45 minutes. (If you were to edit a previous post in your travels your travels could potentially be voided so watch out for that. Upon exiting a landmark make sure you directly state you leave the landmark.) Battles can also sometimes get tricky in the ninja world, but most of the time you can start a battle by being on the same landmark as someone (make sure not to meta-game your way there, actually have a legitimate reason for being on the landmark and fighting them) Should you attack someone in the Ninja World and they don't respond within the default time limit, it is an automatic win.
