Bambino, Bino, BZA, Bzamandius, Bzaphomet, Morphine Jack are but a myriad of names that are/have been used to refer to the enigmatic existence that occupies this account. Blessed are ye who encountered him for yours is a life enriched. Arrogance aside, I am eager to learn the fundamentals and rules. To help save time I've taken the liberty to give provision on some rudimentary details;

(i) Background: Watched a bit of Naruto on a several years ago. Stopped at the invasion of Kisame in Kumo, as I was done with the constant flashbacks. Electting to move into the manga's 4th Shinobi War. Thus, have an understanding of the narrative in terms of overall plot and major character roles. However, its precisely this reason I've elected to undertake this over self-studying the rules. As it is Naruto has a diverse range of abilities with unique developments which might translate differently in the RP. In a bid to save time (from watching/reading the show) I'll do this. (ii) Knowledge: In terms of this Naruto RP, I am a fish out of water. Had some casual conversations with couple of members and I learnt about nature strengths. As well as know the name of Justus (Tai, Ken, Gen, Nin). However, outside that I can honestly state without a RP guideline before me I am terrible. As I cannot explain how these function in the RP (without reference). So think of me as bottom barrel basic. (ii) Experience: In terms of this, I'd rate myself as an intermediate. Having undertaken roleplaying through different anime, comics mediums. Though, in all iterations said RPs had a statistic guideline to attribute the characters level/performance or primary favored writing over battle metrics. As for writing I am confident in myself as I have received equal part compliments and criticism. However, once again if we're talking this RP, lets start out with basic.

If this orientation dies, AB was never for me. @Detective L

Lmao, it won't die. Cause I'll take you under my wing, if you're willing. I had a few students when I was just a Sensei, but consider this an official invitation, if you'd like. When we started with the orientations, the idea was to create a situation where we would teach someone like they were our own Personal Student.

You're the lucky one, you get that treatment. Without further ado, what shall we start with? You're free to choose.

Biographies:

An area you might deal with in the beginning, making your bio. What kind of bio is better, what is the difference between custom and canon bios, and why are certain canon bios so expensive?! Ranks, what do they entail. The different types of abilities, specialties and combinations you can have. Also very extensive.

▸Canon vs Custom Bios
▸Ranks
▸Specialties
▸Special Abilities (and their combinations HA/AE/KG/Mode)

Battling:

A very important aspect. Time frame, how does one equate speed in the RP, how does his technique interact with mine, how can I avoid this particular skill, etc. Fairly extensive.

▸Time-frame
▸Blocking, avoiding, dodging
▸Disagreements, quoting, and quoting etiquette
▸Official vs Unofficial battles

The Ninja World or Warring States Era (WSE):

The areas surrounding the missions in the WSE, what clans are, what does story arcs are and why they are important. The maps, the rules of engagement, etc. An in-depth look into the Ninja World/WSE.

▸Missions (Very important)
▸Clans
▸Story Arcs

Customs:

Basically the do's and don't of these. What they are, how many you can have, what is forbidden to make, and how to properly make them among other things.

▸CJ (Custom Jutsu)
▸CFS (Custom Fighting Style)
▸CE/CEJ (Custom Elements and Custom Element Jutsus)
▸CC/CCJ (Custom Clans and Custom Clan Jutsu)
▸CW (Custom Weapons)
▸CT (Custom Technology)

WOW, honored you'd even consider offering me the position. I'll be going ahead and accepting the offer. Based on our conversations on Discord, resuming on the Biographies section, seems a great place to start. If anything we can just do a run down of the items as Bio > Battling > Customs > WSE. @Detective L

Cool. Now, we'll start with Bios. Since you come from a similar system, I won't really be spoon-feeding you the information, as the other site had some more complex systems. While confusing now, AB is actually simpler than your former site.

You get canons and custom biographies. The canon biographies are the ones from the anime/manga Naruto. Shinobi with some wild skills, and abilities. Of course, the draw of canon biographies is the prestige of wielding one as well as the abilities tied to it, as it normally can't be found anywhere else (and is unique). Hence those large prizes. They are also very expensive. What sucks about them is that you can't place AE, KG, or any of those onto them, only Universal Abilities (we'll cover these soon). Which means that they can't be stacked. If you have an arsenal of Crystal techniques, but you want to have Madara Uchiha, I have some bad news for you.

On the other hand, you could go totally custom and create the shinobi you want, with the skills you want to develop. You may not be able to get the cool eye techniques from the show, but what is stopping you from making a whole arsenal to fit the style of your character? Only the mods and their shitty checking, as well as your own creativity. What sucks is if a field you want to delve into is saturated. It makes things meh, and can easily prohibit further custom making, and if people don't want to teach their stuff, well, you're gonna have to find another way then. That being said, custom biographies allows you to shape them how you want them, with the drawbacks of too many choices and too little creativity.

Or be like me, and just do both :D. Any questions on the types of bios you can have?

Nope, everything's on par which my understanding. I've never bought into the allure of custom bios and don't see myself getting one. Between living to canonical expectations or better RPer depictions, I'm sweet. @Detective L

Cool, need anything about ranks explained? They are pretty straightforward, and basically just tell us what we are able to make at our current rank, and what we need to do to get to the next rank.

Ranks are determined via one's battle and mission history. The greater the participation the faster the reward system. Aforementioned ranks also have their own perks in terms of chakra, health and access. Chakra functioning as a reserve which acts as the currency trading of ninja abilities for feats. Health being metric of one's stamina, durability and endurance. Access ranging from number of elements, their maximum rank to number of bios on hand. As is I am I've got; Chunuin - 100 health - 1000 chakra, 4 basic ninja skils (up-to A rank) and elements (3 up-to A rank and 1 up-to S). Rank up requirements = 5 B or A ranked battle and/or missions @Detective L

Cool, it seems you understand those. What about specialties? We recently got those, and they might be confusing, so I can explain them if need be?

Ok so as far as those go. Specialties are the unique perk traits which help give the character their distinct unique edge. Allowing members to bolster their specific RPing styles. There's Primary, Secondary and Unique. Which can be obtained in a combination of two primaries and one secondary OR one of each. Thought this would come into play in the Battle Section. However, I noticed we've got increments to Tracking, Movement. IIRC this went between X1.5 to 2.5. Was wondering can you stack the same Specialty type? For instance Apex Tracker so instead of 1.5 or 2.5. You stand to gain X4. Also those Tai specialist and defense ones provided +10 and -10? Is this respectable or too little. I'd considered them but it sounded too tame especially since it favors only physical type affinities @Detective L

Unless stated, things don't stack. Normally the higher one takes precedence. Of course, it differs when its from a technique or mode, and if its passive or active (some new rules were released on those too).

It's alright, its nothing too drastic, and it depends on what you're going for. Some people have bios that already shave off say, 30 damage. Being able to shave off another 10, makes things easier (in this case, it stacks, since one is from the specialty, and one is from say, a character based boost).

Do you know what kind of special abilities exist? From our earlier conversations, it seems you've done some reading. @Bino

I might not know how these are determined - like what separates a KG from KT for instance. However I have lived and camped on that Specialties KG/HA/KT page. While the names aren't at the tip of my toungue, I know the basic gist of whats on offer. We have increased tracking, speed, improvements to genjustu, shadow clone (iirc this returns chakra), summons, better damage dealing or shaving (physical types), reduction to handseals, chakra costs (has to specialized element). There could be more but this if off top. Primaries deal with X2.5 and the others are X1.5 respectively. @Detective L

Yeah, the acronyms are a bit wild at times.

Is there any special ability you want clarification on? Or on what combination you can combine abilities? I can clarify those for you, if need be.

We spoke on this in passing and I've got a grasp on what I'd prefer. LoK had spoked about updating them. However, unless the changes are massively drastic I'd go for any combination of Tracking, Speed, Tank, Sensory, Chakra replenishment. Never bought into the others and I'd be more inclined to test out Customs 1st. For instance the reduction in hand-seals is good on paper but seems a waste. @Detective L We can proceed into another section unless there's something you feel I should be quizzed on.

Alright, cool. I have a whole section on battling but I think that one is best handled as a practical. So if you get a chance, make a thread so I can teach you as we go (in a fight).

The section after that has to do with missions, the WSE, arcs, etc. Shall we go through that one?

Alright, so WSE. Its a sandbox area, there are landmarks that you can travel to and RP within them. Each landmark has a small description allowing you to envision what it looks like, but also to sometimes base an RP around it (like say a place that snows, combine it with some bandits, a kidnapping and a rumor, and you got yourself an interesting few elements to form a story around).

When you go to the WSE the first time, you need an approved WSE biography, and basically just know where you want to spawn. Now, this: Map and Ninja World Guideline offers an in-depth look into how travel is conducted in the WSE. If you're ready, we can through it step by step, because I'd say the WSE is probably the more daunting of the areas to master in the RP.

The landmark feature and descriptions are the same as OPB. Except more condensed within one section. Go ahead and breakdown the structure. I've noticed stepping in the wrong territory could get you clapped with the swiftness. Also when you say daunting, do you mean because of the lore that comes with learning the landmarks. Or just the landmarks by themselves @Detective L

Just that it requires some reading lol. What areas interest you atm? Do you know how to travel in the WSE/NW?

Not entirely. As is I know you cannot beam yourself across the map. You've got to travel across different landmarks. Based on how they appear in the world map --which if I might I'm garbage at since IDK whats where but I can pick up as I go. You've also got to announcing yourself in each one. Especially in WSE that more-so dynamic in terms of impact and storyline. @Detective L

Oh, it's quite simple. We have a map, and the numbers on the map correspond with certain areas. I'd suggest looking at this when you travel;

NW Navigation

Furthermore, you spawn somewhere when you start and just travel from there on out. In terms of RP or story-line, what I do with my missions is that I read a description of a LM and just cater the mission around it.
Travelling is generally easy and a lot of freedom is provided in terms of it.
