Operation Payback, started by a group called Anonymous, is overloading websites which causes them to be offline for as long as they keep using 'LOIC' (Low Orbit Ion Cannon). They claim to do this for Wikileaks, freedom of speech, etc.
This are a couple of websites which were hacked:
