Seems like OP chapter 770 will be absent in this week’s issue of WSJ. Reasons are unknown at this point.

Also, just as an aside, there are rumours that One Piece 770 is on forced break by the magazine’s editorial department, as a disciplinary action against Oda’s criticism. Oda has criticised about “the Jump cancelling Naruto Jump Cover Contest without any notice to readers” on author comments of ch. 768

I don't believe this reason for a second.

One Piece is their number one product, they wouldn't be so stupid to shoot themselves in the foot like that, besides this action is not hurting Oda at all so the punishment would be bullshit.

Second of all, weren't those comments published in WSJ in the first place ? Looks like they already approved it.

but if they doing that cause of what he said he should just put it out on the net to really show them
but like a guy who is willing to say whats on his mind and i agreed with him

Wonder if this is true :/

If it is I have a q: How do you guys think WSJ (and Shueisha) would do if they didn't have One Piece?

I can understand why they're doing this. But Naruto did contribute a lot and has been one of their longest running, and one of the best selling manga consistently, since it was released 15 years ago.

One cover off the books wouldn't have hurt.
