this is a question about the jinchurki are they edo tensai or dead bodies receiving chakra like nagato 6 pains or are they one of kabuto coffin i remember seeing in one of the manger chapter that he had resurected the 7 jinchurki i will try find a picture.

if they are edo tensai i don't understand why they would need those rods because they should already possess enough chakra and their biju chakra like the silver and gold brothers did with the 9 tails and why would kabuto allow them to be controlled by madara .

if they are receiving chakra like the 6 pains.First why is naruto aiming for the rods why not just destroy their bodies like he did with 6 pain.Second don't you have to be in that chair that nagato was in to give out chakra and the masked guy isn't in the chair his on the battlefield whats the reason for this.
this adds more evidence towards why the masked guy on the battlefield is a clone for theory.

They are still Edo Tensei Zombies but I think their personalities have been suppressed. If you ask why..then notice them using their own Jutsus or their elemental affinities, they still have their skills.
As for chakra rods, Tobi is only using chakra rods to project rinnegan to them.
Rinnegan's shared field to vision covers every blind spots which is being very effectively used by Tobi.

As for Sharingans, they are implanted, again that is stated here, Tobi has store full of SGs.
You can also notice these jinchuurikis are not using any of RG powers.
My only guess for this is you need both RG eyes to use 6 Paths, rest is upto Plot no Jutsu

I believe that they are edo and were summon by kabuto but tobi implant the rob in them so he can control them incase kabuto decide to act weird.. He doesn't really trust kabuto..

Also, one of the knowed source of that chackra rods is the Gedo Mazo statue, and it have the bijus inside. so from there, Tobi is sending biju chackra to the jinchurikis. the chair isn't a chair is just some sort of prothesis used by Nagato because he lost sensitive in his legs and has reduced life force thanks to gedo mazo previously sucking it.

Because if Tobi didn't put the chakra rods in then Kabuto could control them.
We all know kabuta and he would turn them against him. Also too, the fact of tobi not trusting kabuto is a strong factor.

yh but their was know gedo mazo statue around nagato when naruto confronted him only long pole sticking out from his body,also isn't the weilder of the bodies suppose to give them their chakra in this case tobi but by the looks of it tobi isn't giving them chakra.my theory that tobi is a clone to analyse the situation

the chakra rods only give chakra it doesn't project the rinnengan i don't think :shrug:

I assume Tobi edo'd them himself after Kabuto showed him how it's done.

So to answer your questions they are just dead bodies..not Edo tensei summons..

i find that the whole chakra rod is a fall save switch for Tobi just in case kabuto decides to resume control of the jincs. Remember tobi had given them back their tail beast and he is a smart man not to blindly do that knowing that they are edo tenseis.

Also nice pointing out that they also share the vision field for rinnegan.
