But while the Police was really being dumbasses, the owner was not faultless too the police were responding to a armed robbery and he came like a smartass to make video while playing his radio really loud (A person said that he heard the owner yell 'Its my ****ing radio' when they asked him to lower the sound) ...... so the cop might have exploded from the pressure cos a armed robbery case can just result in a shootout which would endanger many ....... Both parties were at fault but sadly an innocent that was not involved died.

And this is where your clear sense of ignorance shows. "Humans > Animals" is fundamentally and biologically incorrect. Humans and "Animals" that you are describing fall under the EXACT SAME Kingdom in regards to speciation. They are part of the "Animalia" Kingdom. So basically you are saying Animals > Animals. The only thing that separates us from other species is our curiosity and immense brain power.

The act of shooting the dog wasn't out of defense because there was no clear sign that the dog actually attacked or was preparing to do so. It was defending its territory like any dog would; and in extension was protecting its owner; hence the term "mans best friend". The Cop was an illogical buffoon who deserves to rot in jail for his insolence. His family can't be supported? Tough luck. If the father (assuming he had children) wasn't a ****en idiot, they wouldn't be in that position. And just so you know these "hard working officers" have it easier than you think seeing as how a lot of them are overweight and serve nothing more than to take up space at coffee shops and meet monthly quota.

I respect dog instincts and pack culture and to me my dog is like family. So this video, is literally like watching a child get shot in the head for running to it's daddy. It makes me sick and you make me sick for condoning it, keep opinions like this to yourself.

To be fair, lions are not domesticated animals. I do, however, share your opinion that both parties were at fault. The dog may or may not have been aggressive to someone who has not dealt with dogs. He made a mistake, but if he gets fired, it will be harder for him to get another job since he's being demonized by the media. I don't care whether you personally value pets over humans, but don't shove your self-righteous views down my throat.

Well since I myself am from India I can assure that the moment my people will notice Police responding to armed robbery they will go to the nearest hiding spot and click a video from there if they wanted (or form a ring with other people around the point of interest if things looked safe) .... But also depending on the public mental status the cop might have been beaten to death if they killed that dog like that ....

It does to me. And clearly a lot of other people, the thread maker was a controversial opinion and he should keep offensive stuff like that to himself.

I'm pretty much finished with this thread, clearly there are people who can't appreciate life in whatever form and think they should just be able to kill innocent animals for no reason. Go for it. But if I see someone abusing a dog or another creature that is just as vulnerable then I will kick the crap out of you.

Not to mention even 'people who appreciate in whatever form' seemingly appreciate selective things and use forced tearing comparisons (A kid can never be compared to this situation, cos a kid can never jump off the window of a car, a kid can not get aggresive enough to pose any threat.... plus no sensible person would take a kid near an area where the Police is dealing with a ARMED ROBBERY) to win their argument ....... While the Police action is in no way justified neither is death threats against the offending cop and his family is justified (Nor the entire force is corrupt due to that incident either) .......

Yes but i've been hearing a few too many bad stories about the state of the American police force lately, about 5 cases in a row in fact ranging from letting someone who took my girlfriends cousin's eye out out of custody to racial profiling to proof of bullying civilians and purposely creating incidents just to fulfill their arrest/pull over quota for the week for promotions or to keep the job to now shooting an innocent dog.

Not the entire force but I still do not trust them by any means.

So what it the cop tazed the dog? Or maced the dog? Or pulled out his baton and beat the dog? Any other less than lethal action that the police force has. Would you prefer that or would you yell animal cruelty?

It's a messed up situation that the owner got himself (and his dog) into and was handled poorly by that ONE police officer. There was a team that made entry into a house in the beginning of the original vid weapons drawn. Me, having some sense, the first thing I would do is get me and my loved ones out of the area in case a firefight broke out. Or at least get somewhere safe.


The cop that fired showed his inexperience and or loss of discipline. Because he fired at the dog, which took multiple shots at point blank range, but the sound of the gun shots can already agitate the situation for the team that made entry.

But honestly, there are very few people on here that wouldn't react that way if you were that cop. When your survival instincts kick in, your mind stops thinking and your body starts reacting. The only way to counter that is repetitive training and exposure to the situation though simulation to which, I believe, the cop didn't have much off.
And don't say that you would do this or that, because not many of you have been in that type of situation. Sure the force that the cop use was unnecessary, but I doubt most of the people on here would have done better.

As far as the dog owner, when it comes to guys with guns vs guy with dog, the guys with guns have the advantage. Use some sense.

Police are meant to be role models who deal with this sh*t. If the problem originates in the police force itself then of course there's going to be corruption everywhere.

Either way can we leave this debate here, the topic of this thread and the controversial poster makes me sad everytime I come back to it- i'd rather just forget about this tragic incident.

I feel bad for the dog , cop had to defend themselves from the dog , they don't know if the is agressive or not , the dog was attacking the cops, so he took action.
