"One step at a time"
That's what they always used to say to me.
"Once you begin, you should not run.
You should just walk, steadily and carefully.
Slowly at first, faster later."
One step, one step at a time, one step every time.
But walking was never really my thing
Doing things always at the correct time.
But what does that mean?
What if others don't walk but run?
"They will fall, they're careless."
But what makes you think that you're correct?
What if, in the end, I'm the one who is wrong here?
What if I stay back alone when others move forward?
"What are you afraid of? Life is long, why are you in such a rush?"
The question is: will I last?
That's what they always used to say to me.
