there was no such thing as that, but there was a place in which hiruzen told jiraya that minato was better than both of them
If they consider him at 69 beating the first 2 hokage and Orochimaru as horrible compared to his prime, then he must have been very strong. Idk how anyone can say Minato is stronger.
he almost got pwned by them and he had to use Minatos jutsu to ''win'' ('' '' beacuse he died anywayz) and so what if he was 70 yes age affects you but his performance imo was poorer than kakashis at times
well minatos nickname was yellow flash because he killed in an instant
and besides ...
and Pains nickname was god and he got beat
hanzo was a legendary ninja but he sucked badly ...

****ing thank you man!? its like how the hell do they not remember this shit, IMO the only reason Hiruzen was afraid of the 4th coming back was the fact that he was "The Yellow Flash," with peed like that I'd shit myself too

the 3rd only beat oro beacause he used 4ths technique (or rather was forced to do it)

He used the 4th's technique after admitting that he had already used too much chakra fighting not only Orochimaru, but also the two Hokage. He may be Hokage, but even he's allowed to grow older and as time goes on, much weaker than he was in his prime. Besides, he'd already "kill" the two Hokages with the explosive tags, but they regenerate. Because of THAT, he was forced to use Minato's technique. If the Edo Tensei didn't regerate those that were summoned, then Hiruzen would have been finished with the two former Hokage long before that point.
If you compare Hiruzen in his prime (something which we never really truly get to see in the manga) to Minato, then I believe Hiruzen was the more skilled one. However, Minato may have surpassed Hiruzen by coming up with the technique he uses for the space/time-jutsu around the time Hiruzen started to slip out of his prime. Since Hiruzen was out of his prime, he wasn't able to completely master Minato's technique and thus, only remains to be a "Yellow Flash" from Konoha (until Naruto inevitably masters it).

you ask why the 3rd was stronger, then People tell you with facts.. and you argue with them..
the 4th was the weakest of the past Hokage, the 3rd was the best.

3rd Hokage: Said to be the strongest Hokage, He surpassed both his former teachers (the 1st and 2nd)
1st Hokage: Wood element and a large Chakra reserve, he grow up in a time of war giving him lots of exp. in fighting agents different enemy's. always said to best his brother in combat.
2nd Hokage: Master of water Jutsu, he was able to pull water out of thin air, Also Inventor of Space Time Ninjutsu and Edo Tensei
4th Hokage: He had potential to be the best of all Hokage but died before his Time U_U

3rd: plz show me where he is said to be the best, only iruka said it, but kakashi said that minato was the strongest, and anko and hiruzen himself implied that the fourth was better, and minato went up agains the fox, but hiruzen was fighting with like half the leaf and the best he could do is his enma stick (btw i do think its an awesome summoning but cmon he went with that for the fox) and he wished for minato to arrive as soon as possible to take on the fox, and anyone has yet to point out any fact that the 3rd was stronger except the iruka said it shi* or the professor or age excuse
1st: Minato too experienced wars, he too had a large chakra reserve, and he also fought many shinobi, and yes he has wood, but in the opinion of most ppl and logically FTG is better (except the kyubi part, but minato would in a way deal with that, if nothing else he can teleport it, beat hashirama and than seal it)
2nd: as for water out of thin air so can kisame, where does it say he was an inventor of spacetime, and he couldnt control the minds of edo tensei summons
as for me beeing a fan, i dont think there is any point at me admiting it as it is pretty obvious, but you know he is one of my favourites for a reason
ant the same can be said about you ''hating'' him

I don't hate the 4th, I hate the fact that everyone Hypes him so much saying that he was the strongest when thats not the case. no one says the 4th was better, they say he could have been the best (Reread)
