Nah, it's pretty much wasted as if it was a red herring, from what exactly was it supposed to distract us from? I have no idea how exactly Oda is planning to use that box, but one thing is certain and that is that he's going to use it at one point. It's really not something for Oda to add the subplot of that box and then do nothing with it.

See, this is what I mean. You are just finding reasons to trash characters and they are not even remotely legit ones.
come on now, im trying my best here
i even refrained from calling her a useless c*nt as some might find that offensive

can u explain her incompetence cause i dont get it, theres no way someone as weak as those germ guys fight off the 2nd mate of a yonko
she is either weak or just doesnt care about big mom and isnt putting any real effort

Are red herrings supposed to just distract? I think pulling a bait and switch, making it "obvious" that it might injure Big Mom only for it to fall and come into play in a later arc or something, or even never, would accomplish that purpose of a red herring because the tension would build when we realize it won't work that way.

Not some, that would get you an instant infraction.

Oda decides which character does what, how they behave and how much screen time they will get and this counts double in a chaotic situation the story is in now with numerous important characters interacting with one another. You however then start trashing some of them because of your highly subjective and twisted interpretations of the situations?

Everything you just said are things you just assumed irrationally. It's complete bogus and also unfair.

There is nothing here to call her incompetent, useless or weak. Those are all reasons you fabricated for the sole purpose you could bash her, not because there is any validity in any of those comments and this behavior annoys people.

Yes they need to distract or mislead people from something else, otherwise it's completely pointless and currently it isn't doing anything of the sort.

That box so far has done absolutely nothing. Neither for the readers nor for the characters. For the latter it has been permanently on the background, this chapter is a prime example of that as it gets dropped off the building and all the protagonists aren't paying any attention to it. If that box disappears now, it would have no effect on the majority of the characters whatsoever, especially in light of recent events. Every time that box got mentioned, it was just a brief footnote and it immediately was overshadowed by other events. So for them there are no distractions or anything misleading.

And what did it do for the readers? Guessing when exactly that box would be opened, but that's about it and that hasn't changed.

If that box disappears now from the arc, but pops in another one, well then I wouldn't see that as anything that unusual. A bit surprising, but nothing that out of the ordinary. That box was an intriguing factor, but certainly not hyped nor that prominent. That it would damage BM is not even that credible of a thought, let alone that it was ever presented as it being obvious. I mean Neptune boobytrapped that box in the case someone tried to steal it contents again. He kept that box in his own palace. So he was keeping a bomb powerful enough to damage a Yonkou in his house with the thought in mind that someone might open it again there? Maybe if BM has a mental breakdown again, but in that state she can't open boxes.

In which conditions that box will opened and how it will affect the story, that has always been the question and it will remain like that until it's opened.

Nah, in this case, it would be misleading; Oda would be leading us to think that in this almost unwinnable situation, the box will weaken Big Mom and that would act as the saving grace the Strawhat group needs to avoid a completely hopeless situation. It makes the reader comfortable so that when the box becomes useless, it's surprising and the tension rises because what we thought was a situation that wasn't hopeless because of a small glimmer of hope turns out to be actually hopeless.

Like when Team Levi were attacking the Female Titan, and we were lead to think their teamwork was allowing them to overcome her. We got comfortable so that when the Titan recovered and the teamwork became useless, the tension was skyhigh. Same deal here, and the box will serve a purpose by misleading us into thinking the situation is safer than it actually is, i.e., a red herring.

Sanji ordering them was pretty cool. Big Mom is pissed and it's hype. It's going to be a long wait for the next chapter, on the bright side HxH is coming back next week.

How much strong physically are the emperors of the underworld? I'm talking about people like Stussy, Morgans, Du Feld and others. To be put in basic combat in hand-to-hand. Maybe they're as strong as Yonkou commanders?
