BM's blind rage may eliminate some people holding up Luffy and Co giving them a better shot at her too. I'ma die if BM eats Katakuri during this rampage since he's made of food lol.

I said this a couple of weeks ago and I kind of forgot about it. But this chapter feeds my theory a bit more.
These memories don't really make sense and there seem to be some pieces missing from the puzzle. What if Pudding tampered with with Big Mom's memories for whatever reason ? Maybe to build in a weakness as a possible back door so she could escape if she needed to. Pudding isn't very happy under big mom too after all.
It has to come in play somewhere because when Oda showed her fruit on Reiju, Sanji immediately undid the effects. Making the whole demonstration and explanation pointless, unless it becomes relevant again somewhere down the line. This might be it.

She ate everyone that pretty obvious especially since you see mother caramel's clothes ripped and tattered on the ground. I don't believe this applies to how Blackbeard stole whitebeard's devil fruit, but this could mean their are more then one way to take a devil fruit power. This way only applies to big mom since she is big enough to consume a normal person whole. I think when it comes to the Blackbeard crew I think they are using the doflamingo method. It's not by accident doflamingo some one who was at the war had aces power. On a battle field there would be no fruits doflamingo was smart enough to bring one or some with him knowing that the power would be recreated in the nearest fruit if ace or any fruit user died. Since this is the end of the flash back big mom gained her power by eating mother Carmel whole just like she ate her own subordinates back in fishmen island. This means the war part of this arc finally begins been waiting a long time for thank you Oda.

Before the wedding that might have been a possibility as we didn't know how vile and cunning Pudding actually was, however now we have learned that emotionally she definitely isn't that confident. Someone who would break down in tears just because another person said that her third eye was beautiful, is really not a person that has the caliber to dare alter the memories of a Yonkou to build in a weakness. That's a complete mismatch unless BM herself requested it, but that too I sincerely doubt.
And I don't think it was explicitly stated that the effects on Reiju had been undone. She just believed Sanji on his word that her memories had been altered.
I can only wonder what people will make of BM's strength if this flashback was shown before we met BM herself (much like Kaido's intro.)
OT: While it's likely BM ate her family, it's possible CP0 had something to do with it. Why will she leave the clothes behind if she ate them, also, she's not that fast, they'll be able to run away from her (even if they don't successfully run away, the clothes will be at some distance from where they had the party).
Tho, I can't think of a suitable reason CP0 will leave BM behind if they were behind this event.

I understand what you're saying but it still bothers me that Oda went to such lengths to have Reiju spy on Pudding. Pudding catching Reiju. Tell her the plan and erasing her mind with her fruit while it was all seemingly for nothing.
If Oda's plan there was to show Sanji how evil Pudding is and what her plan was he also could've make Sanji overhear Pudding talking to the jelly and the carpet. All the cloak and dagger stuff with creating a new devil fruit ability and explaining how it works, feels like there will be a use for it again. Maybe she hasn't used it on Big Mom yet, but maybe she will at the end of the battle so they might give Luffy and or Pudding an opportunity to get away from her turf.
Yeah my first thought was that CP0 was behind their disappearance as well.. (because why else would Oda even show them, or what kind of person Mother Caramel was, if they weren't going to matter and Big Mom would just eat everybody anyway.)
But all of the "her eyes were too blurry to even see clearly" and "I even ate some of the table" just really makes it seem like she devoured them. lol
I love the twist of events, thank god it wasnt a sad story where we sympathize for her. And to all those saying BM is weak, Oda keeps coming at you with more BM hype. She seems stronger than akainu with all this hype in all honesty.

Crazy ending...I can't imagine the horror of being eaten alive...He didn't really go through that much lengths as it took what? 1.5 chapters? The whole point of that interaction was to show Pudding's nature and BM's betrayal and for Sanji to learn about it. Yes he could have done that in another way, but truthfully he could do everything in another way. And yes Pudding's DF power might play another role, but that could be anything and it's not like every DF power Oda created was vital to the story. Your comment was about that Pudding already manipulated her memories, which is different from her potentially doing it in the future. Hell she could try it right now if she wanted too.
It simply does not fit at this point with the story that Pudding would have altered BM's memories (unless Pudding has been faking the faking). I mean I think if she wanted to create a weakness in BM, she could created something more substantial than her making a fuss over a picture.

I have a theory about an old ladies secret society. The members were "Mother Caramel", "Ms Bakkins" and the creepy lady who offered Urouge an umbrella when he entered the new world. I reckon we'll probably see more dodgy as old ladies. Damn Oda, even making old people shine . Props to you !
Well, it said that her vision became blurry from tears and she said 'I chomped on the table a few times'.
It could mean that either she uh consumed everyone, or while she couldn't see Mother Caramel wrapped her operation. Maybe CP were supposed to come and get her? But that's all Oda showed

Excellent chapter cant believe BM ate everyone but it does answer why her favorite meal is souls
