Another possibility, other than the two fruit clause becoming irrelevant or circumvented, is that there are multiple Big Moms. It's not the most logical conclusion, but it would be interesting if it turns out the Germa 66 are using her as a template for an army of Yonko-level combatants, kind of like Oleg in Saints Row: The Third. They already have cloning technology, and it would take an absurd amount of luck, divine intervention, and Deus ex Machina to stop them.

Also, it occurred to me that Luffy royally screwed up when choosing who to take on the Sanji rescue crew. If Law was here, Sanji'd be as free as a bird. He'd just Ope-Ope the Friendship-Bracelets-O'-Explodiness onto Judge, and boom- Sanji freed, pun made, game over, mission accomplished.

I honestly think those cuffs are the least of his problems.

I can imagine Sanji taking a risk and stand up for himself after he knows Zeff is safe and valuing his time with the strawhats more precious than his cooking dream.

Or Reiju disabling them, as she was the one to put them on.

Or a Rayleigh like haki trick to remove them of his wrists.

Even if he's willing to fight Sanji, I doubt if he'd fight him with any intention of causing harm. And much of same can be said about Sanji as well. If they really are going to fight each other, The best possible scenario I can imagine would be; Luffy somehow getting beaten and left behind by Sanji.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Luffy sees through it and make some contact with Sanji and Luffy ended up losing on purpose which would be their plan of some sorts for later in the story.

Fighting Sanji is nothing compared to what Luffy has had against Doffy. Sanji is just few miles behind Luffy when it comes to Haki.

It isn't about whether or not Luffy is in a good enough shape to deal with Sanji or about how stronger the two of them are; It's about whether if they will fight with the intention of actually harming each other or not. Chances are, Luffy wouldn't even seriously try to oppose Sanji by fighting back.

Luffy beating Sanji right there wouldn't be logical for plot.

Yeah that is pretty helpful when there is someone coming to kill you.

Besides Zeff is no schmuck he has some pirate experience and has decent strength and maybe some contacts. It was said he cooked for big name pirates.

So if a call came in telling Zeff it might be better for his health if he closed the restaurant for a while and wait somewhere till further notice. It gives Sanji and Luffy some time to deal with the Vinsmokes because they're the ones with the finger on the trigger.
