Yeah, i don't see how law's backstory is more twisted than this, the agony is only worse when the people your closest people are the source of of it. I can understand robin since she basically had that sanji treatment but for even longer time but how law? I personally don't see it.

Was it ever said in the manga they were real physical swords or is that something fans have said. It's more likely he still only has 3 swords but the opponent just sees 9. Kenshin was able to do 9 strikes at once and OP is well above their level so why wouldn't Zoro? And I think Riker meant conq haki not armament haki.

九刀流

Romanized Name:

Kyūtōryū

Official English Name:

Nine Swords Style

Debut:

Chapter 417; Episode 300

Literal Meaning:

Nine Sword Style

User(s):

Roronoa Zoro

Fighting Style Focus:

Swords, Spiritualism[1]

Kyutoryu is an addition to Zoro's main Santoryu. They are extensions of his spirit and part-illusion based and Kyutoryu effectively triples Zoro's potential as a swordsman and enabled him to shatter Kaku's most powerful Rankyaku.[2] The techniques are accessed when Zoro uses Asura, creating the initial 9-sword illusion needed to access the others. Very little is currently known about the exact nature of this brand of style as it was only so far been seen used against Kaku,[1] Indigo,[3] and a Pacifista.[4]
Wiki from what I saw in the manga all those swords exerted a force no illusions

Man Just when you think there could not be anyone with a sad past in the crew....... BANG!

Ahh, I would love to see the day when sanji wipes the floor with Ichiji and Niji.

It says right there though "They are extensions of his spirit and part-illusion based "

so I'm not really sure but I don't think 6 more swords just appeared because they're copies of his 3 swords. Essentially he's just getting 2 more copies of each sword he already has it's not 6 new swords coming from nowhere.

So Sanji is a mutant? Lost a few points to me with this chapter.
Lol why is that though?
Personally after the spoilers I thought that it'd be really interesting to see Sanji get over and move forward after learning he's just a clone but that didn't happen.
Being a mutant(failed) still didn't give him whatever it was supposed to over his siblings so he's pretty much how a normal human should be.

I wouldn't say it failed because he can do Diable Jambe which is like Niji's Henry (whatever the rest of the move was called) I think it just didn't activate until after he had left Germa but it did kick in I'm guessing.

He got supernatural genes experiences on him, which means he lost the natural potential vibe i got from him in the past. It may not have been on his other siblings level, but his potential isn't natural anymore since it got modified. And that's without considering the possibility he may have actually just been a late bloomer, developing his inner potential with more growth experience and training(i don't think the sentence where Judge said they need to train to unlock their potential was left for no reason)

I'm really amazed at how Oda can provide so much character development for a character that we haven't even seen yet. We know where Vegapunk was born and raised. We know where he worked and with whom. We know what he worked on and why he joined the WG. We even know some of his personality traits and moral believes. I mean think about he has not even been a background character in any of the arcs thus far, let alone a prominent main character. He just gets mentioned from time to time in flash-backs or when additional information is provided about a relevant matter, but the person himself is still as mysterious as he was when he got introduced.

GOda is that good,
Look at:

Great Kingdom
Void Century
Moon Clans
The will of D.

These things are not main focus, they pop in and out of the story. Yet They got me licking my lips at the mystery they created. Especially the Moon Clans...
