Who needs conquerors haki, when you've got ussop scare tactics. Ussop truly is amazing, I hope he incorporates this hot grape into his arsenal and names it.
Could you imagine if luffy just walked in there with CoO and K'oed Sugar and looked at all the pirates and said handle my light work.

Did anyone else notice how Hajrudin, the giant from Elbaf, desperately begged Usopp to win, even saying he'll work for him? I didn't notice at first, but in this very chapter, Usopp actually took a step closer to his own huge pirate fleet.
Oh sh*t, I didn't noticed it. That's great.
I just noticed Cavendish said he wont chase Luffy hr is turned back into a human, cld this lead to some alliance of sorts.
I really think you shouldn't be thinking too much about what all of them are thinking in their heads. They don't want to be toys, they are forced to do slave labour, everyone is forgotten about them, can't even speak out loud when it goes against DD and they can't do anything about it. They're at the complete mercy of DD and then suddenly someone is taking on DD. They don't care who it is and even if it's the weakest person on earth, it's the only hope they have got.

As they can't do anything other than talking in their heads, the only thing they can say is the 'I'll promise' thing, whether they are promising it to themselves, a higher being or someone else, doesn't really matter and they promise the things that are the most natural to them: Hajrudin is a warrior, fighting is his specialty; Daruma believes in the power of money, so he promises money; Cavendish promises not to hunt them anymore after he originally said he was after Luffy's head.

The entire point of knocking out Sugar is to turn the toys back into humans so that they could fight DD or in the least cause enough chaos so that DD's control over Dressrosa weakens. So in a certain there's already some kind of 'alliance', especially because some of them know it are the Strawhats who are fighting.

That damn feels with Kyros flashback! Such an awesome chapter.
Poor Franky got beaten up, but i'm sure he will be okay.
The ending is still a wtf moment to me, where i had to luagh hard after that emotional flashback of Kyros

Awesome chapter, I must say that flashback was worth it, considering the fact that it was really needed to fill the plot points which weren't addressed.
-Kyros and Scarlet's love story was actually interesting.
-I really liked the way Rebecca is being attacked mentally in the Colosseum and the way Sa..Lucy said that 'good' ,I was like,

-It was disappointing that both Usopp and Franky got defeated so easily, I hope Luffy will pull it off against Doflamingo.
-That messed up face though, Usopp with another tech/strategy, well who knows?:p
A little bit of chapter, is it me or someone else thought that Robin looked cute in that cover page?:p
Anyways good chapter, covering history and unexplained plot points, with a good flashback.5/5

Usopp technically "won" and Franky was going to lose anyways he was outnumbered.

I'm not surprised Usopp was beat up, he was up against one of DD's top 3 fighters + sugar. It makes it even more awesome that he won anyway because of luck, Usopp is probably the luckiest member of the Straw Hat crew. As for Kyros, I don't think he will leave Rebecca's side, so I doubt he will join the crew, I'm still hoping Bartolomeo joins, but that's doubtful since he has his own crew.

Lastly Franky put up a good fight but it's no surprised he was defeated, I hope he fakes em out by pretending to activate a self destruct mechanism to scare them, then he just gets up and walks off. xD

My god.. One Piece.
How do you keep doing this to me!

Hey guys, sorry. Warning right now, this could end up being a loooong post I am going to write because I got a lot to say.

And I just made this user just so I could discuss these laters chapters with some-one. Any-one!

So.. erh.. hey! My first post here.. going to be a long one.. course.. darn it, I have been burning in for a while!

First of.

How nice is it that One Piece is back at an emotional peak?

I mean, these chapters, we are up there with Brook being stuck alone on his ship for fifty years while remembering his dead grew, or Doctor Hiluluk dying while trying to heal the country sad. It's pretty high.

Which is nice, because.. before now, I just don't think One piece really found a prober pace again after the time-skip.
I mean yeah, it kept being good.
Fishman island arch served its purpose perfectly, by being the lighter "Yeah we are happy and back again now!" arch, after the extremely heavy and emotional Sabboday/Marine ford arch, that went on for a very long time.
At that point, light fun and time to just relax and have some fun what was what was needed. And it did so perfectly well.
Then we reached Punk hazard, time to get serious again and erh.. pff.. the arch was good and all, it just.. wasn't as good as previous One Piece.
In fact, I had started to get convinced that One Piece had reached its emotional peak with the Water Seven arch, Sabboday arch and Marine Ford arch.
And, I wouldn't blame the manga for never becoming that good again, because I thought that was just exceptional story telling for any manga, and you can't demand every-thing to be exceptional, then nothing ever would be, good can be good enough to, just a bit sad when we reached the peak to early so the rest feels.. kind of flat.

But dangit, NOW we are back on track!
And this new flash back... oh god why. Are you kidding me? .. this is the same. "Are you kidding me!?" feeling One Piece has given me plenty of times where things are just so freaking sad! .. and that's a good thing.
Kyros is such a winner character in so many, many ways! I fully exspect to see tons of cosplays in a near future, both of his human and soldier self, both personalities are so great.
Nice little detail with him putting on gloves before even daring to pick up Rebecca, because he didn't want to soil her innocence with his touch, aww.. such a sweet-heart.

I have of course, been very invested in what Usopp is up to.. because Usopp is actually my favourite One Piece character.
I got really mad and dissapointed when he ran for it, and then excited when he turned back, and faced up to not only his own fears, but his own lie, standing there saying. "I am indeed, a liar! And I am weak to! I am probably going to die, but i'll try any-way!"

Sweet, so great.. and then..

Honestly, at first I got dissapointed and hated the end of this chapter, but then I went back and re-read it.

First of all, I think it's pretty obvious that there was meant to be a fight here, but it was cut for time and pace issues, which I get.
There's a lot of stuff going on right here, and well.. focusing to much on Usopp's fight would take away the pace of the upcoming fight, so I think.. it's worth it.
Also, the one panel we did get... indicates that Usopp really went for it, it pretty much shows the entire toy factory shaking. And god dammit! He tried! you can't take that away from him.
He tried, in spite knowing that he would probably be beaten up, even die. His only goal was to at least take sugar down with him.
I would really have liked it a lot better if he had managed to take her down by skill instead of luck, I mean.. damn, how lucky are you that the dwarves decided to make a Tobasco grape instead of a poison one, and Sugar decided to feed it to him instead of just.. you know.. turn him into a toy.

Also.. will Usopp ever realise, there would have been a waaaay easier way to win this fight?

I mean really, think about this. The only thing he was supposed to do, was to knock Sugar out.
She has a body guard whom is pretty strong.. but I don't believe know observations haki, and she is not very strong herself, except you don't want to touch her physically, then she'll turn you into a toy.

Okay, here's the thing.. Usopp is a sniper.. a sniper.. think about this for a second.

When I heard he was going knock out sugar i thought. "Oh my god! this is a perfect job for him!"

All he had to do was to.. sneak a bit around, find a good hiding spot, lay still for a while until Sugar comes out.. and shoot her!
You know.. like a sniper would, that is what makes snipers that damn dangerous, they can take down incredible strong oponents, by merely being patient and silent themselves. And of course, being ridicoulesly precise, they are some nasy piece of works if you come down to it.

The Body-guard (forgot his name, sorry.. sticky man.) shouldn't be able to prevent that, he doesn't even dodge bullet himself, he just lets them pass right through him, I don't believe he would be able to just pull Sugar out of the way.

Then the grape came out, and I thought.. Okay. We can use that to.
Remember thriller bark? Where Usopp just made the zombies swallow salt by shooting the salt into their mouths? You could do that with sugar to, no problem, you are good enough a sniper to do that two years ago, would be a cool master shot to do now, showing off some real sniper skills, would have been cool.

Or well, if we want to take another option, shoot the grape so it lands in the bowl with the other grapes. Some grapes would probably fly around, but I don't think they would suspect it was a grape you were shooting, he could lie and make them believe it was a missfire.

There were options here! He didn't have to loudly approach them, pretending to be Luffy whom just don't know other ways... Will Usopp ever realise that? That is my question.

But oh well, even though we lacked the fight, he walked in there knowing the best he could hope for, was taking Sugar down with him, and he tried he darn best, so good on him.

Great chapter 5/5. I think Usopp has Conqueror's Haki but might not awaken till Yasopp's death and Usopp's fight with Van Augur when he is truly a brave warrior of the sea. Plus the epithet of SogeKING and having 8000 followers makes sense for him to have Conqueror's Haki.

This has already been invalidated in another thread. Foaming around the mouth is an indication that that person fainted, regardless of what the reason was. This could be the King's Disposition, but also countless of other stuff. There have been other instances people started to foam without someone using the KD.

The Sogeking thing means nothing and the 8000 followers is nothing more than one of his lies. If anything it invalidates him having it as people with the KD automatically rally people around them and are given by them titles like the Pirate King, the Dark King and the Pirate Empress. If they are given themselves the titles and need to lie about their followers, Usopp is as far of the KD as you could possibly be. He can already be glad if he ever gets a certain mastery over regular Haki.

Above all it makes absolutely no sense on all levels that Usopp would have the KD.
