It was a decent chapter. Not bad at all but nothing spectacular to me. I had a feeling the toy soldier was Rebecca's father so I wasn't surprised there. Nice to finally meet the guy who's been transforming everyone into toys but apparently the toys can't disobey his orders. Makes you wonder what makes Rebecca's father an exception. I'm also curious on what exactly Luffy was referring to when he said he was reminded of his country. Perhaps some more development for Luffy? I look forward to it
I'll give this chapter a 3.5/5. Only because I'm greedy, I wanted more plot progression but we're getting background stuff right now. And there was no Law The arc is still in its build up stage IMO

Completely forgot about that, looks like I need to go back and read those chaps, I kinda skimmed through while I was catching up on the anime. Thanks man =D
So Riku is that old!?
Good chapter , so is Trebol the toy guy? Doubt it , I think that there's another person in the room with him. Trebol surely has the snot fruit (or something like that).
I am already loving this Riku guy. Pretty badass , his scar on his head reminds me of Garp and his scars round his eye. I just wonder how people can love Doflamingo and think Riku went insane.
Good thing we got some backstory and we know the origins of the Tontottans and the fairy legends.
The Riku (or is it the Doldo?) and Nefertari families are really alike now , there's loads of history on them.
This chapter was fantastic! Way to end the chapter aswell , even though I saw the spoilers it still came as an unexplained shock to me. DAYUM!!
Awesome chapter! I love this kind of chapters where they provide info about the history of the OP world, though some things were already predicted like the identity of the king and Rebecca's father.
Interesting though, did Riku now say 'Viola'? Might be a bad translation again as Violet/Viola are very similar. Unless there is a character called Viola, can't remember it though.

Yeah I think Violet has ties with the ex royal family. Maybe that's why she's headed to the palace?
I had a blonde moment :| Of course his second name is Riku... ignore that. I've been to busy reading Korean Manwha ; even the order of panels you read is opposite. It was a weird experience reading a new manga chapter again xD

- Never expected ex-gladiator ricky to be the former king..i always believed he was "KYROS", well i guess not
- Loved how many gladiators and toys bowed down to King Riku xd
- Also loved how the rumours about the former king being cruel were incorrect instead he is actually a really great peacekeeping man
- How quick was the toy-making process...i think Trebol doesnt do the whole process with his devil fruit. I think he throws his body like fluid which can mold a human even into anything he desires. Then we see a machine, next minute a monkey comes out making me believe this is the case U_U
- Why does Oda tease us like this? We see Bartolomeo finding Luffy but the scene changes
- The reference Luffy made with grey terminal and the gladiator cells was cool. Perhaps even foreshadowing luffy rescuing these guys like his father saved the grey terminal folk?
- To find out the history of dress rosa and the tontotta people was also good
- Also , the reveal of the toy soldier being rebecca's dad was unreal!! O_O Wonder what he truly looks like considering SAI transformed into a toy was a small monkey...
Um, people. I think we should wait till *********** version to finalise if King Riku actually said "Viola" or "Violet" HAHA?
Nice chapter. A Solid informative chapter which was well put, P.S we got some comedy on the last page, so I'll give it a 5 star.
Other than from the obvious, that Viola girl, King Riku is talking about is definitely Violet, and I guess it's pretty much obvious why. First the name matches. Second, Tank is watching over viola in the Donquixote while being in the Donquixote family and violet is(now was) too in the don family. So king is concerned about violet, that means she is a relative to him and Rebecca. Also Violet destroyed the screen where the watchers were bad mouthing Rebecca, so it further proves that they are relatives or some(can't be sisters).
Hack has some common sense I'd say. Kept a den den mushi with him. -.-
And also, more things from the void century marked for later. I guess that what happened to dwarves in void century would be revealed when Robin would read Rio poneglyph. Those guys in the ancient kingdom might have written something about the past of donquixote family too(about other 20 families too I guess).
Complex and well executed Arc, I'd say.
King Riku's look made me laugh, he looks like Baby Huey xd. Nice chapter and the content was much informative, the Viola person is probably Violet like most of u guyz think and i think it wld fit well with Violet betraying DD family.
Great chapter!I've been waiting for a "back-story chapter", this was very interesting. I also love the way Oda builds up social matters like slavery/gun trading etc,etc along with the main story, it's one of the things that makes One Piece so special.
Riku is alive and still has people who are loyal to him. It's certainly going to be a big uproar in Dressrosa. Doflamingo's enemies are piling up.
The toy maker was revealed, although this sludge thing he used to make the toy confused me. Also the toys have to obey the orders but they don't lose their mind/memory. It's like they are trapped in a toy body.
Toy soldier is Rebeca's father, that was predictable.
The Tontata's bond with the Riku family was a nice story.
I think the next chapters we will have more action since Bart found Luffy so Zoro and Kinemon will meet up with him and let him know what's going on (that is if Bartolomeo will be able to speak to Luffy ).
Interesting though, did Riku now say 'Viola'? Might be a bad translation again as Violet/Viola are very similar. Unless there is a character called Viola, can't remember it though.
Thought the same thing. There's always the possibility for Violet to have a bond with the Riku family. Seeing how people hated Rebeca for being a Riku she might have managed to escape when she was young (her DF ability is very useful for such purpose, assuming she had it since then), change her name and came back to infiltrate and take revenge on Doflamingo. Long shot though.
