A few chapters back when Rebecca was telling her story, we heard from Toy soldier that Rebecca's mom was important person...that may indicate that her mother was daughter of king Riku, that would explain how he is grandfather of Rebecca. Toy soldier was some badass lover of Rebecca's mother.
When Doflamingo family tried to exterminate King Riku and his relatives... Toy soldier saved his daughter Rebecca but couldn't save his wife.
OT: awesome chapter. Could have been more surprising if we didn't already speculated the family relationships.
Kinda liked the Toy maker's ability(ugly snot nosed already might have snot snot fruit).
I also liked a little Grey terminal flavor.
I am afraid it might take a few chapters for Bartelomio to convey message to Luffy. LOL

Rebecca is Former King Riku's granddaughter. As in Rebecca's dad [ the toy soldier ]'s dad.

We don't know which one is "more special". Becase we haven't seen Rebecca's father properly as he has been a toy this entire time.

I wouldn't be so sure about toy soldier being son of king Riku.... Toy soldier didn't showed much concern or loyalty towards King Riku than he showed care and protection for Rebecca. IMO he is some strong guy who fell in love with Riku's daughter(Rebecca's mom). I also have little theory behind it: When Riku's family/relatives were ordered to be exterminated, they(assassins) went after Rebecca mom(king Riku's daughter) who actually got killed, not toy soldier who got turned into toy. If they were to go after King Riku's son (toy soldier)he might have died despite being so strong because they would have sent stronger assassins. He managed to protect his daughter and further more, fighting for Rebecca's safety holds higher priority than opposing Doflamingo kingdom.

Nice chapter, informative from its start to its end. So Doflamingo managed to trick the people of Dressrosa through some means (I am really curious as to who is the one that helped him do so) causing the fall of the until then loved by his people king Riku.
Soldier is obviously Rebecca's father and Ricky is the ex-king. No surprises there, at least for me.
Imo Viola has to be Violet. It would be a major troll by Oda if that proved not to be the case.
Poor "tiny midgets" though. Damn the Donquixote family is simply bad bad , really really bad. Still, I like Doflamingo as a villain. At last pure evil villains in a shounen manga (Croco being the other one).
Maaany parallels with the Arabasta arc though. I don't like this repetition too much but anyway, there are aspects that make a difference. It's like Doflamingo is the "pro" version of Crocodile
I don't like the fact that Bartolomeo is such a HUGE strawhat fanboy. Damn I want him for next nakama or just ally but he has to calm down.

My god... the toy soldier is Rebecca's father (we already guessed), the old gladiator is the previous king, the basement is full of ex-soldiers and something is up with Violet too... *feels so trolled*

Decent, Trebol and Barto saved the chapter... The history lessons are good, but I feel it was extended too much. Sucks that there was no cover story

What's concerning me is that we have seen Trebol and Diamante in a few minor appearances. But only the silhouette of Pica. So is he gonna be stronger than the other two or is he going to be a non factor in this arc?
I think he will be the strongest
They seem to follow the pattern of their names relating to cards in diffrent languages and his means spade.
Ace of spades is the most popular one so it kinda makes me thing he would be the strongest one
weird symbolism I know but I am weird too so.... :/

Just like how Diamante means diamond in italian,spanish and portugeuse. And Trebol means means clover in spanish. I already knew this.

That stuff is actually really important. Go back and read them! If you skip anything in any manga you're likely to be confused and thinking "WTF IS GOING ON!?" later on.
