Sincerely, the saga is now unfolding, we got the preliminar views on what might be the next major antagonist, Big Mam. I just love the selfless sacrifice luffy makes for fishman island! and kaboom! big mam sees right through it, with not even a seconds hesitation. Candy over treasure, the way of gluttony!

I still don't think he might be able to face by himself and his crew a fleet of a yonkou. I mean, think of it, could you see luffy fighting a whole fleet off? His crew might help, but unlike in fishman island most of them are strong new world pirates, with great willpower in order to survive there. I don't think the fight will be easy.

What if shanks hears about this? What reaction will he have towards luffy's actions?

the chapter was awesome!!!! they got all the piles of treasure back, defeated the numa numa guy (heck yeah, he didn't join!!!) I'm dissapointed in the lack of cover story in this issue, too bad we cant always get all the epicness together, too much blood of the blown heads.

The colorspread was nice and creative, I liked it a lot. BIG MAM IS JABBA THE HUTT!! Nah jk, maybe it's just a puppet toy of her's. From what we know, she might just be a little girl obssesed with candy and fairy tales.Think of it, the courageless lion (wizard of oz), the fallen humpty dunty (baron tamago..), the candy island (hansel and gretel?), the guy with the mask could be a prank of rumpelstkin (spelling) and the triclops really leaves me at unease. The tea party could be a reference to alice in wonderland too (sugooooooooi) They seem to be quite a crew, hard to beat. It'll be a good saga. I pictured big mam as somebody childish.

No the real question, is lola her daughter or not?!?! I just wanna know at once!!!

YEAH! Oda is not Just picking up Alice in Wonderland, he is linking all this crazy stories togther in one crew. I'm just speechless with the possibility of this crew. I hope to see Absolom (The real one now, not the pervy invisible lion) and Cheshire Cat (With the same powers) I hope to see some Chess pieces too xd.

Btw, I agree that Luffy's crew might not be enough to beat a Yonkou's fleet. It has been hinted that Kidd had some sort of conflict with Big Mom, so I guess he might join Luffy destroying her, for personal reasons I'm sure. I stand as I did, Law, Kidd and Bonney are the most awesome Supernova ever. I'm sure Drake will be cool too, but those 3, my favorite characters. And yes, obviously I'm not counting with Zoro and Luffy.

I don't think Shanks will do anything about it. The Marines might, since it would mean that one of the Yonkou is making a move, and maybe even more if they brand Luffy as an actual threat, not only a potential threat, being so that with Akainu's arrogance, he might still think of Luffy as a flea on the WG's back. Still, some things are about to change in the Marines, and they'll make a move, I believe so.

Kidd, if he is indeed targeting Big Mom, he might feel like not loosing to Luffy on it, and it might backlash on Luffy. I had a theory that he just came across Big Mom's ships by accident (more like they came into him by accident) and he just destroyed them because they were in the way. But 2 years ago he was looking for Kaidou, and now he skirmishes with Big Mom's ships. I say he is looking for the Yonkous. But now that I think of it again, Jinbei noted that Blackbeard was now considered a Yonkou at the level of Shanks, Big Mom and Kaidou, so I think Kidd hasn't reached his initial target yet, unless his gold was not to kill Kaidou, but to extract something from him. So maybe Big Mom's ships were just a coincidence. Then again, does Oda really make these kinds of coincidences?

Knowing Oda, he could very well induce a third time, and Luffy will be the direct cause of it :shrug:

Well, here's my take on it.

Luffy, having beaten Kaidou and Big Mam (with or without the other Supernovas' help) will be nearing Raftel. BB would be chasing after him, but Shanks stops BB. They fight, and by virtue of being the prime antagonist, kills Shanks and defeats the Red-Hair Pirates. Luffy receives the news and fights BB until his dying breath. When he becomes PK, Luffy will visit Shanks' grave and put the hat on the slab of stone, effectively disbanding the Straw Hat Pirates.

Dunno, that's my fanfic on how things would go had I been writing OP.

When he becomes PK, Luffy will visit Shanks' grave and put the hat on the slab of stone, effectively disbanding the Straw Hat Pirates.

I think it will screw up his legacy if Luffy needs help from Shanks defeating Big Mom. It may just end up being a while until they fight though and Luffy may add a crew member of two as well. For Luffy's legacy I don't think someone as strong/well known as Shanks will help him. If he gets help it's more likely in my opinion that he gets it from a random group of people like when The Straw Hats defeated Rob Lucci's team to recover Robin and Franky.

I thought X Drake was the one that was looking for Kaidou two years ago?

As for Shanks, it will be interesting to see how Oda goes about developing his story. I truthfully think that he will be the last challenge for Luffy, and Luffy will have to defeat him in order to become the Pirate King. But I could also see what Boa said becoming true, and that BlackBeard will kill Shanks before Luffy has the chance to see him again. Leading Luffy to defeat Blackbeard, then ending his journey at Raftel.

But who knows. I just think that Luffy will definitely meet Shanks at some point, and that maybe after their meeting Shanks goes to war with BlackBeard and dies.

I wonder if Luffy will actually defeat all the Yonkous. It seems like Big Mom is really hating this guy, but we still have the Lola card. Now, your end is possible, yet there are some stuff missing. Personally, ending Shanks with Blackbeard just to give Luffy the time to go to Raftel is not a very fulfilling ending for a character as big as Shanks. Now I'll give you one thing to think about:

Shanks traveled with Rodger to the end of the Grandline, I assume. The other option is that only a select few members of the Rodger Pirates actually made the last leg of the journey, while the others stayed behind. (Something to do with destiny?) Or maybe Shanks was purposedly left behind so that he could find One Piece on his own, with his own crew (like other young pirates (Buggy)), and only the old members of the crew made the final journey. In that case, Shanks went back to find a crew and then made it to the New World and is now trying to find One Piece. He doesn't seem very suspicious, and he is pretty laid back, the chances are that he is keeping a secret of some sorts.

On the other hand, he might have traveled to the end of the Grand Line, and is now waiting for something to happen. Rayleigh said they found the truth, but did not have the skills to understand it, or couldn't do something about it. Luffy is on the path to discover it, and so Shanks is waiting for him.

Maybe Shanks will be the guide for Luffy to either find Raftel or after he finds it, to pursue the truth. As such, Shanks role is not only to be an inspiration for Luffy, but to also be a guidance, linked with the void century.

Having Luffy put the hat on Shanks grave and then disband the Straw Hat Pirates is good though. But I wonder, what if it's someone else's grave? Possible suspects:

- Garp
- Dragon
- Rodger
- Rayleigh
- Luffy's Mom (assuming she might have a greater role in the future)
