That's post timeskip Luffy. After the war he lost all his confidence, even his dream of becoming Pirate King. It was thanks to Jinbe and Rayleigh's training that he regained both of those things.
He knows exactly how strong Yonkos are judging by Shanks and Whitebeard. So, no, I don't think Luffy is stupid enough to do the same mistake unless he would be sure that he can defeat them. The whole point of his training in with Rayleigh was that he could stand up to guys like Yonko's and admirals. Obviosly he's not on their level now but with time and plot-shield he can do it.
And Luffy did mature. Claiming a territory is not what pre skip Luffy would do. He's becoming a more serious pirate now.

I think Luffy won't fight her NOW. Maybe 2-3 arcs later. It's just like that with Crocodile. We have officially finished the "Arlong arc" of the time skip. We're now approaching the "Alabasta arc" of the time skip.

maybe the SH pirates will fight some big mam allies pirate before Challenging the BOSS

Imo, there's two options :
1)He's going to fight her in next arc, defeat her and by doing so he will declare himself as a major player in the New World.
2)He'll run into her henchmen from time to time but will fight her after 1-3 arcs.
I'll go with the second option. Defeating a Yonko now would be too soon. Other Super Novas haven't reached that level either.

Sincerely, the saga is now unfolding, we got the preliminar views on what might be the next major antagonist, Big Mam. I just love the selfless sacrifice luffy makes for fishman island! and kaboom! big mam sees right through it, with not even a seconds hesitation. Candy over treasure, the way of gluttony!
I still don't think he might be able to face by himself and his crew a fleet of a yonkou. I mean, think of it, could you see luffy fighting a whole fleet off? His crew might help, but unlike in fishman island most of them are strong new world pirates, with great willpower in order to survive there. I don't think the fight will be easy.
What if shanks hears about this? What reaction will he have towards luffy's actions?
the chapter was awesome!!!! they got all the piles of treasure back, defeated the numa numa guy (heck yeah, he didn't join!!!) I'm dissapointed in the lack of cover story in this issue, too bad we cant always get all the epicness together, too much blood of the blown heads.
The colorspread was nice and creative, I liked it a lot. BIG MAM IS JABBA THE HUTT!! Nah jk, maybe it's just a puppet toy of her's. From what we know, she might just be a little girl obssesed with candy and fairy tales.Think of it, the courageless lion (wizard of oz), the fallen humpty dunty (baron tamago..), the candy island (hansel and gretel?), the guy with the mask could be a prank of rumpelstkin (spelling) and the triclops really leaves me at unease. The tea party could be a reference to alice in wonderland too (sugooooooooi) They seem to be quite a crew, hard to beat. It'll be a good saga. I pictured big mam as somebody childish.
No the real question, is lola her daughter or not?!?! I just wanna know at once!!!
Lol at luffy grabbing the phone and beggining his smooth talk, epic.

Great chapter I was hoping the Straw Hats would get into a fight with either Big Mam or Kaido to start off the New World. How do you make a big splash after being gone for 2 years you take on 1 of the Yonko.
I am almost ****ing speechless from how epic this chapter was. I literally have goosebumps. ODA WHY, WHY WOULD YOU MAKE THIS GOOD OF A CHAPTER AND THEN MAKE US WAIT 3 WEEKS FOR THE NEXT ONE.
I don't know how I'm going to survive those 3 weeks, this chapter was just... SO MUCH ****ING BETTER THAN the shit Kishi gave us this week.
Starts off, and we see 2 of Big Mam's advisers. I'm already guessing that the long legged one will end up being sanji's foe in the future, it only seems fitting. Then we actually get an image of what big mam looks like. What is she? She is gigantic! That fake picture was so off, it's unbelievable. I DID NOT expect her to look like that.
Then to hear that Kidd is tearing apart the new world is great news. As Boa Hancock said, I could definitely see Kidd and Luffy teaming up and possibly taking down Big Mam as a Yonko. Then Luffy on the final page declares Fishman Island as his territory! This only supports the fact that Jinbei will be joining the crew in the future. How couldn't he after all that Luffy has just done for the fishman race.
I think this also means that when Jinbei joins the crew in the future, it will be when he finally does fight Big Mam. Unfortunately I still think that this is going to be at least 1-2 arcs away. It's amazing to think of what's going to happen in the near future, and what the new world is going to be like.
Holy crap that was a great chapter. I honestly can't wait until the next one. As for people thinking that Luffy is being stupid by doing this, I think it is showing how much he has grown. As someone said, the old Luffy would never have claimed a territory of his own, and this shows his progression into becoming an admirable pirate. He is now a pirate that is without a doubt a huge threat to not only the world government, but to all the pirates in the new world. Including Shanks.
