Luffy pronouncing ''Gear Fourth''and ''Boundman'' sounded a bit like Jirayja when busy with his wild antics.
First time I actually liked the scenes where the people in Dressrosa were running for their lives, the music and desperate atmosphere were spot on.

Note when Luffy Rhino Schneidered Doffy's face his sandals magically appear back on his feet xd
Lmao @ the sandals.. good catch! XD

A moment that I thought was done extremely well for the anime standards was the conversation between Cabbage and Law. When Cabbage explains that after Doflamingo is defeated, it won't be over, that they'll cause a ripple in the world and Law and Luffy will be the object of everyone's attention. Then Law replies "I'm well aware that's what'll happen" like a boss, looking up at the ominous grey sky and birdcage.

Then it switches over to Luffy about to enter Gear 4th.

I just really like how they executed that part.

Didn't watch the episode yet, but reading the comments make me really willing to watch it. I'd come back for a comment lol

Edit: Animation was pretty good this time around and i liked the extra-scenes in the clash between Doffy and Luffy(showing the difference in power between g4 Luffy and Doffy. Doffy couldn't even believe what happened to him when sent flying by kong gun lol), i also like the way how they rendered Luffy even more arrogant while in g4, but damn i hate the way they designed g4 as even rounder than in the manga.

Not to mention that we don't even see his feet when he is levitating making the entire thing look weird. The Culverin animation was amazing though, but damn they stretched that scene to say the least lol. Other than that i really liked the Law-Cavendish moment and the next episode seems to be priceless as well. The background music also reminded me of the East Blue Saga. It was about time to revert to that nostalgia moment haha

Overall pretty nice episode :)

Man they kept switching animators and styles mid fight. Not cool. Still a solid ep, could have been better if it was more consistent.

Nah that was really satisfying, you could feel the force of how fast he was travelling. Simply having him disappear wouldn't do it justice.

Where it could have improved is the stupid little pause they had before the hit. That's what slightly ruined it.
Yeah, that's it. I didn't how to describe it. Even though the pause was kinda there in the manga, the anime pause seemed just a bit off.

Ahh yeah bro! That would've given it a better feel imo also. Even if they atleast showed Luffy in that flying towards Doflamingo position, for only a second, it would've been okay as long as they had him dissappear like a teleport almost (I'm thinking Rock Lee vs Gaara) mid-flight, then BAM reappear infront of Doffy and like you said, cocking back that Punch way more to show some more force behind it. Idk... I just thought it looked more powerful in the manga.
Exaxtly! I think Rock Lee vs Gaara is exactly what a fight where someone is blitzing the other should look like.

Was it just me or did the anime make Luffy seem a lot stronger then the manga depicted. He made all Doffy's attacks seem useless (even overheat).

Episode was done really well though.

Really? I felt like they made him weaker actually. I couldn't even feel the impact punches at all. Not to mention they made it seem like Doflamingo was only barely physically weaker than him when they made him clash with g4's elasticity multiple times in close combat to lose by a moderate margin. That aside even mentioning the long amount of time it took for culverin to actually land on him. They made Doffy seem stronger than he actually was if anything

The fight was pretty one sided just like the manga, Doflamingos overheat even got crapped on and that never happened in the manga, Doflamingo tried close combat with G4 and got wrecked.

Episode was done pretty well imo, except the fact that they focused way too much on the civilians.

luffy's haki seems to be in red and black color while doffy's haki seems to be black color . In one piece video game cover its said that shanks has a red haki... maybe luffy's haki will transform to red haki as time passes.

overall anime was awesome.

I feel like they shouldn't have shown Luffy flying over towards Doffy. It should have been Luffy disappearing, immediately reappearing in front of Doffy, and they could have stretched out him cocking back his arm a bit. To me, showing Luffy moving towards Doffy took away from the "DAMN HE GOT BLITZED" effect.
Luffy flying to me was the highlight of the episode. That was pure speed in display and it showed how fast he really is. Also it was shown in the manga so taking it out in the anime would be blasphemy especially in this moment.

I think they should've still shown him flying tho don't get me wrong.. but I think it should've only been for a second and then he should've disappeared, and the reappeared infront of Doffy.. (like he did just a few moments later during the fight)

Don't talk to me if you aren't gonna talk facts.

He appeared right in front of Doffy and what was stretched out was him cocking back his arm

There was no extended travel scene in the manga.

Finally some good animation from Toei. Luffy looks redicolous and insanely powerful at the same time. This stage can easily beat bigger fish than Doffy, in few attacks he had, he made Doffy look helpless. His variation of Geppo for flight looks fcking awesome. Did you notice how his haki is not black but redish due to his blood reaching a boiling point? This also hints towards a full body Red Hawk at some point in the future.

I guess we will see G4 gaitling in Zou, and than a combination of Red Hawk with G4 attacks vs Kaido. Can't wait.
Did anyone notice Luffy sounded like Kumadori in few lines?

He didn't appear right infront of him then either, he was travelling while cocking back his arm and Doffy even had time to monologue what he was doing. The problem to me wasn't Luffy charging him, it was after the initial hit. It wasn't as dynamic and powerful as we would expect from the manga.

The manga made no emphasis on travel time, the anime did, which made it a tad less impactful than the manga did.
