I had a realization just now about Sasuke's new post-Orochimaru-resurrection personality.

I'm not sure how likely it is, but there would be some nice symmetry if Sasuke could not let go of his hate but chose to believe in what Itachi believed just like Naruto did with Jiraiya's beliefs when confronting Nagato. The way Kishi writes it is easy to see he loves symmetry I mean just look at the Hokages and their students (Hiruzen Oro/Jiraiya/Tsunade, Minato Obito/Kakashi/Rin, Kakashi Naruto/Sasuke/Sakura).The way Sasuke's story was developing before we cut away from him I have a hard time believing he won't break his cycle of hate in some way, and perhaps this is that way.

When we were going through the Pain arc I thought that all the talk about hate was good but kind of preachy. But now looking back at it I really appreciate it, because it allows me to look at Sasuke as a deeper character. I think Nagato's backstory and obsession with pain really helps you understand Sasuke's issues.

True in someways i guess, the only problem i have with this is that even though Nagato caused a lot of pain and destruction he truly always wanted peace, Sasuke on the other hand wants Power and to avenge his brother. Sasuke's naive and naive people can never be told what they need to hear.

This is pretty awesome. I see what you mean and I can see the parallels. Sasuke could be repeating what Naruto went through.

Quite plausible. Naruto and Sasuke are only human, they cannot really the actions of their enemies. But they can still follow what their mentor and brother believed in. I did not expect this kind of theory to come up.

I have a feeling something like that is going to happen. Not exactly the same but it will have the same output. Dont know why but after naruto vs sasuke fight always had a hunch that sasuke vs naruto part 2 is not gonna happen.U_U
The thread indirectly implies the same results=> no sasuke vs naruto in future. I am glad:)

Sasuke =/= Nagato U_U

No I definitely agree with you there. What I meant was that the Pain arc gets into the same issues Kishi is trying to get at with Sasuke. I mean some of their pain is pretty similar. Clan wiped out/ Nation suffers because of Konoha. Parents dead when they were young. Manipulated by Obito. Obsessed with their old pain. They are totally different in terms of motivations/goals but that's the way Kishi works, he likes to have the same pain lead to different motivations and paths in life.
