Has anybody ever played Okami? I beat it three times now, and I was wondering if they will ever come out with a sequel on Nintendo Wii.

It's a pretty awesome game, and it has a lot of familiar words/names. For instance the main character is named "Ameterasu" which is the Sun god.

Capcom has officially announced a DS sequel to the critically-acclaimed Wii game Okami. Titled Okamiden, the picturesque action-adventure will be available in North America sometime in 2011.

Okamiden takes place a few months after the events of its 2008 predecessor, Okami, and follows the adventures of Chibiterasu, a young son god summoned to protect the land. Like his parent Amaterasu from the first title, Chibiterasu takes the form of a wolf with the ability to wield a celestial calligraphy brush.

With the DS stylus, players can use the brush to attack enemies, paint helpful objects into existence and help Chibiterasu perform various feats. The stylus brushstrokes are pressure sensitive in an attempt to accurately depict the look and feel of Sumi-e artwork.

Throughout his journey, Chibiterasu will also join up with new characters, each with his or her own unique abilities, using the in-game Partner System.
