Well after reading all the predictions and theories, none of the mentioned came to my mind of who Tobi really is. I think this Tobi is a living entity, not the ones written in history as deceased. He wears a mask because i think he is a well known shinobi of today not of the past, especially to Kohona!
Those that has been mentioned here so far are all predictable choices. And the author will end this series i guess with a big surprise. A surprise so unpredictable.
I know many will disagree with me in my prediction, but anyway this is what i look at how the story is going to be. So i predict that Tobi is Kakashi! The ultimate villain is the one that is close to the heart of everybody. I think Kakashi has developed his MS so powerful that he can have 2 manifestations at the same time. And obviously the power of Kakashi's sharingan is the same as Tobi's sharingan that controls dimension, time and space. I think the Kakashi in konoha right now is just a second and weaker instance of himself!

Hah, he stated he's a shell of his former self. So I bet this tobi guy is also Madara but like a nobody of him in kingdom hearts. Maybe he used some kind of jutsu to do this and become "immortal" while his original self died. Lol.

I think the thing to take away from this chapter is that we have no idea who Tobi is.
Heck, he may still be Madara. Somehow, both Madara and Tobi knew Nagato: Madara commented on him, and Tobi said he gave Nagato the Rinnengan. Since Nagato had a normal life (in the sense that he was born at some point and died at some point) we now know that Madara and Tobi had to have been alive at the same point.
Unless of course Madara can somehow time travel.... It is called space-time Jutsu, after all.
I have always thought a crazy twist would be if Tobi was actually a future, evil Sasuke, but hey, who knows.

the difference between kimimaru and obito is kimimaru is actually strong, it cant be obito hes played his role already and he doesnt even know who madara is nor would he care, its someone from madaras time

People how do u know its not obito? No one now knowscwho tobi really is so u cant just say its impossible unless u have a better theory and even then that doesnt mean anything until we see the next chapter

Who is Tobi?
Tobi could be 1 of 4 people
1. Izuna (why he would do that Idk)
2. Madara split technique (It may just be Mu who can split but maybe somehow Madara learned it, split up and one half died and the other half went on to be Tobi/Madara) This one is pretty insane.
3. So6P... I've heard this to much... I don't beleive it at all....
4. A completely new char that we haven't seen yet (that we know of)

It seems likely to me, that the original eyes of the SO6P would have been preserved, that kind of power should never be lost and plenty of sharingans have been preserved. I'd imagine the Uchiha would have passed them down through generations to eventually find someone worthy of possessing them again. Madara could have given them to his Zetsu clone (as per my thoery) since he knew that the moons eye plan would involve wiping out the Uchiha and there would be noone to hand them down to again. The Zetsu-Clone-Madara implanted them in Nagato and used him to manipulate the Gedo Mazo Statue to seal up the beasts in order to complete the Juubi and kept him around in case he needed to be resurrected.

Im pretty sure its Izuna... Because I did a bit of reasearch and found an old picture of Tobi with his older mask. when I compared it the hairstyle to both Madara and Izuna it turned out closest to Izuna....

By looking at these pictures I conclude that it is Izuna Uchiha - Madara's Brother.... If you looks closely enough u can see the similarities. The only difference now is that Izuna doesnt have his hair tied back....

Anyway, back to my original point. People have different thoughts about what happens in the manga, and people have different opinions, which they are entitled to. Getting mad people their viewpoint differs from yours is not really going to change anything.

If Obito's left eye was crushed so would his skull (Cause the eye rest in an eye socket) and his brain. But yet he could still talk. Tobi had ONE visible sharingan until he shows the second against Konan. But by that time we could see he had a very vast lab full of Sharingans, and he knows how to implant eyes (like he did for his rinnegan).
As for mastermind and fool, Naruto would counter that argument of yours. Agreed point one though.
They don't know! But it is VERY likely that it is not Obito. (I don't believe in this theory making any sense at all personally, but I cannot exclude it from possibilites

Minato and Tobi fought, even Naruto says that top tier ninjas can communicate through their fists, you don't think that Minato would have realized it was Obito instead of having the assumption it was Madara?

tobi=madara i think i solved it
ok i think i got this when madara and the 1st hokage were fighting i think madara could of have used the same jutsu as muu did where he split his body in to two which can xplain half of him is roaming free and the other half is dead
this can xplain y he calls himself half of his former self
any thghts on my though......
and madara recognised or i mean muu recognised madarawhen he saw him maybe they fought once and madara copied his justsu
now wat u think

hi...this is my theory abt whos tobi really..nw it s confirmed that tobi is not madara...And we have only a few options remaining since there are only a few ninjas with sharingan.The candidates for Madara are
1.Izune uchiha
2.Uchiha shisui
3.Danzo
4.Uchiha obito
I dont think it wil be izune since he lived arnd 5 or 4 generations before and without sharingan or is hokage Dna nobody could survive that much time.
Abt shisui he gave one of his sharingan power to itachi(remember koto amatsuki) and the othr was taken by danzo.dont tell me the craps like he is not dead.becos danzo,a person who is considering entire uchiha clan as threat to konoha,surely killed him if he is alive at time he got shisui's eyes.
Danzo is really confusing.Compare his face with tobi both of thew looks like same..but i will go for obito..
