You're taking it out of context.
I then went on to say that you will probly get a few more flashbacks, and key events such as the Chunin exams will also likely be shown in some way or another. Hence why the pts characters are included.
What i meant is that its not going to have the 9-tails attack the village, and then just jump straight into the war, with nothing in between...
Its very likely the game will have more than 1 flashback

It's likely for the Team Asuma flashbacks when Chouji has to fight Asuma. (The anime had a lot of cool flashbacks revolving around this so thats what i'm expecting.)
I heard ages back that PTS Shikamaru, Ino & Chouji were definitely confirmed...

But we are still very likely to have flashbacks, etc...
If there was going to be no flashbacks, there would be no point in the PTS characters. The fact that they are making an appearance in the game, shows that they will be very likely to show up somewhere along the story.
