Every other ninja who "dealt" with loss dealt with it and let the system that took their loved ones away continue. Obito's actions were selfish and selfless. In a world with power like chakra, peace is pretty much unattainable without something like IT.

....IT turned out to be a weapon for Kaguya. Both Obito and Madara tried to go the easy way by grabbing power quickly to enslave the world. They failed miserably.

So you can't actually disprove the fact that IT was useful despite it being a complete trick to revive Kaguya? Let's say there were no tricks and schemes at the crux of it all, what makes IT a bad choice then?

There's nothing to disprove about IT being a weapon and nothing more. IT wasn't useful in any way to either Obito or Madara as they were manipulated into believing a lie.
IT was a bad choice simply because Madara and Obito were trying to force it on people without any regard to free will.

Madara's plan was Infinite Tsukyomi.

He never had plunging the world into a war as a part of his plan which is confirmed through his dialogue upon being brought back.

Obito used Madara's name but he himself was the one who plunged everyone into a war and forced them to unite. So yeah, he definitely had a part in it more than Madara did. Since he was the one responsible for the war that brought the alliance together.


Or Black Zetsu. Black Zetsu planned it right? Black Zetsu brought peace.
