That was only because the power of friendship wasn't strong enough or some BS like that. if Obito came back with full power be would be able to stay in it as long as he wants.

With each use of Izanagi,the users chakra goes down.That was noted upon by Karin during Sasuke Vs Danzo.

Obito probably didn't have enough chakra. Either way you have to cast izangi before the damage if you want to reverse it...

Did his chakra go down because Izanagi took its tole or was it because he no longer got a boost from the specific sharingan? And if reverses all damage (implies chakra loss) and fully restore it as seen in the next page. B-)
