Yeah let the Jews forgive hitler and the cycle of hatred would be ended that way. naruto's reasoning has more disadvantages than advantages and his solution is very temporary. But it's a manga so...

Naruto actually said he would never forgive Obito, he asked Obito come back and face his punishment not that he would get off clean.

He was basically asking Obito to man up and take responsibility for what he has done.

Obito's entire character has been built up around what happened in Kakashi Gaiden. He was a good guy, like Naruto, that had unfair tragedies happen in his life. He died heroically, to save his friends and even in death only wanted for them to go on living happily. We as fans might not understand Obito, but let's review the facts:

-He wanted to become Hokage and impress this chick. She died and he failed to save her in time.
-He got smashed by boulders and lost an eye to save his best friend
-He had to watch said best friend kill the girl he loved
-He had no parents, apparently. Or at least they were estranged.
-He was found half-dead by Madara and had his genetics altered with weirdo Zetsu stuff and Hashi cells
-He was mindwashed for at least a few years by Madara, and deprived of any real social contact

Whether anyone on NB will admit it or not. These events would drive anyone insane. Obito is regretting his actions because deep down, he is still a good person. That said, Obito gave up on reality and on himself. He does not want to be anyone. He does not want to become anyone. All he cares about now, is bringing Rin back.

A grown man like Obito accepting Naruto's words just frankly makes no sense. They don't share a common teacher like Nagato and Naruto did. There is no book. There is nothing to suggest Obito should listen to Naruto, rather we've seen exactly the opposite.

Nagato was calm and collected, whereas Obito is rash and even immature sometimes. Nagato truly wanted peace, whereas Obito just wants to enslave the world in genjutsu and bring Rin back. Naruto cannot bring Rin back. He cannot convince Obito through cheap words.

Why? Because Obito's mentality is exactly as Naruto's. He would never give up on his dream. And what is his dream? To bring peace to the world, by forcing peace on the world. Whether the world wants it, or not. Ultimately, Naruto the character is unaware of the village's inconsistencies. Sasuke represents this plot hook, that Sasuke has seen the dark side of the village.

Naruto needs to be aware of that dark, inconsistent side of the village of Konoha if he is to become Hokage. As Naruto is now, he has the power to be a Hokage, but he lacks the wisdom and knowledge. Even Shikamaru lacks the knowledge of just how absolutely evil the Konoha elders were to Itachi, Kabuto, Orochimaru and the rest.

Obito is well aware of these inconsistencies in Konoha's past and he will NOT forgive them easily. He will refuse Naruto's offer. Konan, Nagato and others warned Naruto that he would not change the man behind the mask. The simple fact is that Obito represents the side of Naruto that wasn't able to deal with reality.

So basically, I predict Obito will be killed before he accepts or rejects Naruto's offer. Probably by Madara, but possibly by Sasuke. In the end, I think we all know on NB that Sasuke has an ulterior motive in helping Naruto right now.

He's said he will become Hokage, end the corrupt system and kill all the bijuus. Do we really think he's 100% happy with Naruto just because Hashirama laid down some history lessons? LOL, as if.

Okay. Then if Jirayia taught Naruto about his will to find peace, when people understand each other... what would be the perfect ending for this manga?

If your statements are right, then all Jirayia's teaching are impossible and Naruto didn't inherit anything with practical value, and moreover... almost all Shippuden didn't have meaning.

I'll be frank with you. If Naruto kills Obito, he would making a fault against Jirayia's teachings, and all his ninja way would be damaged forever. That is extremely bad for the plot.

Naruto didn't have parents
Sakura never liked Naruto
Naruto's best friend tried to kill him
Every threat has tried to tell him bad things, he just doesn't listen

They are opposites, so it could equally make sense for Obito to accept TNJ because Naruto has been through almost everything Obito has been through and seen/lived through some equally messed up stuff. Obito is just scared to feel, hence why he thinks M.E.P. is the way the world should be, Naruto is the opposite.

One thing is for sure, Obito is going to die one way or another, he can't just turn on Madara and beat him then everything is perfect. Plus if the Jubi gets out, Obito is dead.

Didn't you read the last two chapters? He said he is no one and does not want to be anyone but it is all lies....He and Naruto shared a link Via Chakra and Naruto saw everything he was thinking.. As for the part where you stated that they shared nothing compared to Pein, I would have to disagree with you....
Kakashi and Minato are two people that they have in common...
Again, Obito lied when he said he did not want to be anyone... Read the last two chapters!!!!!!!!

Here, we see that Obito wants and wanted Naruto to abandon hope. He wanted to confirm his own beliefs. Naruto nearly did give up when he extended his hand to Obito. Obito represents a dark Naruto, one that gave up on his dreams, reality and ultimately even on himself.

Now we see that unlike Nagato, Obito really, truly believes that he will bring peace to the world through M.E.P. Arguably, he would bring peace to the world. Is Obito lying? Absolutely. He's been lying from the beginning. He doesn't want to do these heinously evil things, much like deep down Yagami Light did not. He's torn apart by it, and the only way he can justify it to himself is by abandoning his identity.

Why go that far to lie? Because he really, truly believes in what he is doing. Nagato was just a guy crushed by Pain. Obito is a guy that gave up his own identity to do what he thinks is right. He's said many, many times "All I care about is the Moon Eye Plan (and thus, a world where Rin is alive). Naruto cannot bring Rin back. In the end, Obito will not give up on his dream, which is a world where Rin is alive. Or in a world with peace.

Why won't he give up on it? Because he's exactly like Naruto. Obito's statements and reasons are total B.S. but he still believes in his own dream.

Obito spoke the words at the bottom of this panel less than 1 hour ago in Naruto-verse time. Bluntly put, nobody changes their life philosophy that quickly. Nagato was unaware of Naruto's past. He was unaware that Naruto was also an Uzumaki like himself. He wasn't aware that Jiraiya had so much confidence in him. Obito knows all about Naruto's past, because he caused most of it.

Does Obito want to take Naruto's hand?

Yes, again absolutely he does. Will he? No way. That means giving up on his dream, giving up on bringing Rin back and ultimately having faith in reality. That's just not the kind of guy Obito is. He's always put others ahead of himself, and he won't give up on this.

Why? Because he is 100% truly convinced that the end goal of what he is doing is right. Because Madara mind-washed him into believing that. Obito's regrets are related to not returning to the village and for the pain he is causing everyone to get to what he sees as a justified result.

I would like to add that Minato and Kakashi's story lines actually require Obito to be TNJ, it would leave their stories without closure if he isn't.

Obito is the king of TnJ anyway..
- TnJ'd Young Kakashi and made him lighten up and enjoy the little things.
- TnJ'd Sasuke into the Dark Side
- TnJ'd Nagato into making Akatsuki

Well that's it really...

He's done for. That was his fate. He tried to be madara but he's too pure in comparison and casting the genjutsu just doesn't work well for him.
