yes he became solo king.
i also believe madara's trump card will not affect him or it would make him worse.
but madara would not be able 2 control him.
afterall kishi's main line "next gen beat previous gen" then only can came into existence.that is sasuke and naruto beating obito at d end.

it's because shes the catalyst that makes him more motivated to see her again.
think of it this way, you were a good boy, then all of a sudden reality hits you hard in the face and then you realize how horrible the world is truly is, Of course hes gonna be thinking of rin because thats what made him realize everything and She was also one of his dearest friends. not to mention his best friend killed her as well.

It's funny you're saying that my "interpretation skills lack," when you're the one who fails to see that Obito's words in that panel you brought up, completely contradict his actions and what he's been doing.
What made him go back to Madara and join him? Rin
What interested him in the Infinite Tsukuyomi? Rin
What was his reason when Kakashi asked him? Rin
Why did he attack Kakashi with the intent of killing him? Because of Rin
What is he constantly thinking about? Rin
What made him think that this is a "fake world"? Rin
What did he think about before becoming the Jinchuuriki of the Juubi? Rin
What did he think about before transforming into something that resembles the Rikudou Sennin? That's right, you guessed it! Rin

Kishi really needs to lay low on the Rin shit. It's making seem that Obito is doing nothing more than to revive her biddy ass back in an illusion. But yes, really like Obito in this chapter. Infact, I have been his fan since his introduction, and honestly even more when he was revealed.
Because she was the catalyst and the one that Made him who he today. If obito witnessed rin killing kakashi, he would be chanting kakashi the whole time because thats the incident that shaped who he is.
Plus kishi is developing obito's character more by rin and his team.
That's all nagated by the scan YOU posted.
Not once has Obito thought about how horrible the current Shinobi world is and why he wants to change it.
It's all about Rin. EVERYTHING is about Rin.
It's like Sasuke. He wants to change the shinobi world because of what it did to his brother, his family, his clan. He uses them as a catalyst but is thinking about the big picture, he wants to make sure something like that never happens again. He's not just thinking about a singular person.
It really makes Obito look like a little *****. I'm not even a hater of this guy, but this is pathetic.

You can't prove that he would've done the same thing if Rin was the one who had killed Kakashi. It was already clear from the start that Obito was attracted to Rin, and then that attraction became an unhealthy obsession; he did not have the same feelings for Kakashi, obviously.
And I like how you were trying to make it seem as if this isn't about Rin, yet you, yourself, admitted that she is the one that made him who he is today.
Yeah, he's developing Obito's character by his team, all right... that's why he was fighting Kakashi, and currently, Minato.
Kishi Has bluntly stated that Obito's motives are not loosely based on rin, What more do you want?
obito has been using rin and his teammates as motivation to proceed with the plan just so they can live in peace with each other, He uses it to strengthen his resolve, But it doesn't cahnge the fact that Obito is trying to change the world, It's just Rin is a big part of it as well as kakashi and Mnato.
Rin was the Catalyst meaning that She has the most impact on him as that was the turning point of his life, of course hes going to feel more importance to Rin because that was the moment he decided to Make the world a better place.
I don't know what else to tell you, If you understand what im saying, then i suggest you re read the manga starting from 599 and you would get a better understanding.
because Rin dying was when reality hit him hard, That moment shaped who he is.
hes fighting kakashi and minato because they oppose his plan, he wants the plan to work so they can all live in the moons eye plan.

Keep clinging to that one little panel; I can very well post the bazillion times he's crying about Rin to show you how much of a hypocrite Obito is, but I have neither the time nor the inclination to do so.
Look... it's obvious that this argument isn't going to get us anywhere, as you are blinded by your love for the character. So let's just agree to disagree on this one.
And that's the problem.
30+ years of witnessing the horrors of the Shinobi world and Rin's death (catalyst whatever) is the ONLY thing that was the most horrifying. Nothing else tragic happened, just Rin's death.
It's sad. This is why he's viewed as *****.
P.S. I get it, he loved her and all that other nonsense and he was young. Whatever.
