Characters stating facts about strength could be interpreted differently, maybe kishi wants us to think sakura is on the level of naruto and sasuke, or maybe not.

But obito stating something to kakashi about his personel feelings and Goals should be correct because obito is the only person who knows whats going on in his head, If he says rin isn't the only reason, then its not the only reason.

That statement was stated for the sole purpose for the "obito started the war for rin" crap, Kishi simply wanted to clear up that misconception.

Why should I believe what he's saying, when he's doing the exact opposite? And besides, Obito has lied on numerous occasions throughout the course of the series, and it has been shown that he can be pretty hypocritical. I'm not going to buy that crap when it's clear that he's only thinking about Rin. Just because you want to believe that it's the author's way of refuting those statements, does not mean that it is.
