Watching that ending again makes me understand more of just how excellent a character and villain Obito really was. People don't understand that his reasonings are more complex than "you let Rin die." It's more like "you let the symbol of hope and happiness in my life die."
He killed Minato and Kushina.
He is directly involved with the Uchiha massacre.
He led the Akatsuki.
He manipulated Sasuke.
He is responsible for almost every awful thing in Naruto's life and Sasuke's life to a lesser extent.
He started a world war.
And finally he is what Naruto could have become.
There was really no reason to involve Madara or Kaguya at all. Instead of Edo Madara it could have been Edo Hashirama or something. Yes I know Hashirama could break Kabuto's control, but Kishi could have given Kabuto the power to stop that from happening or something.
Also, it would keep the mystery of Tobi up. He would still have all (or most of us) convinced that he was Madara, and when the mask falls off, it's actually Kakashi's childhood best friend turned cold heartless killer.
That would have much more of an impact than Madara and Kaguya who have barely any connection to the main characters.
