Cause Obito knowing itachi, knows that he's really smart and if they were to fight itachi would find a opening in his techinques in a matter of seconds

Which is why Obito didn't wanna risk fighting him, cause he knew there was no limit to Itachi's analyzing skill.
Obito was in a situation, where it was better safe than sorry

And adding on to everything Lilt had said in his thread which also holds true, Itachi could defeat Tobi with the techinques he already has. There would be no need for any new jutsus for Kishi to give Itachi to win.

I find Itachi's intelligence gets overrated. He's smart but not as smart as you're making him out to be, he wont find an opening in Obito's Kaumi in a matter of seconds. Kakashi is better at analyzing then Itachi and he's seen Obito's Kaumi a few times and coincidently used his own Kaumi to thoroughly decipher Obito's Kaumi, Itachi wont have the same opportunity. Itachi would have to do what Danzou's team did but it would most likely be unsuccessful.

Itachi could also use a clone feint and hit Obito while Obito is unknowlingly warping a clone, which he believes to be the real Itachi. Despite all his hype, prior to getting the Rinnegan, Obito really wasn't all that. He had one Mangekyō that, while a solid defense, possessed a linear and limited offense.

Exploding Bunshin can be countered by his 5 min of Izanagi. Izanami won't work as he needs to touch him for that, which he can't do.

Obito can activate Izanagi and beat Itachi during the 5 min that he is invincible in.
