Obito is not a bad character

Obito is well away from the ''bad character'' title. Even though many don't like the way he turned out, Tobi was still the second best villain this series had, and Obito himself, despite falling pray to Naruto's trademark TnJ, had substance, depth, development and actual character. Yeah, we all make fun of him for quote unquote starting a war over a 12-year old girl, but I'm pretty sure everyone knows that Rin's death was merely the catalyst for his decision to give everyone what they've desired and end the system that was plaguing the Narutoverse.

Obito is, in my opinion, one of the better characters in Naruto, despite his many, many haters. If you really want a bad character, you should look towards the Otsutsuki family - every single one of those aliens is bad.

That's only half true and completely irrelevant. He used his "love" for Rin, his willpower. Tobi never saw Madara as a friend or ally, and when Madara decided Tobi's time was up, Tobi rejected him and hijacked "his" plan. So to say Tobi was just Madara's pawn is wrong.

Yeah Obito knew what he was doing all along, without Naruto and Sasuke Obito would have sent Madara back to the afterlife and enacted the IT himself. Obito just didn't know Madara had set up the Rin thing to corrupt him, Madara knew about the curse of hatred and used it to make Obito carry out his plan from the grave.

It wasn't about his love for Rin, it was made clear Rin's death was what made him hate the world but it wasn't what fueled his actions, Madara's ideology that he passed onto Obito was what pulled him along that blood stained path. He begins remembering Rin towards the end because that's what originally set him off, but he had mostly forgotten the original reason while he wore the mask, that's why he's like to Kakashi, "perhaps it's because you let Rin die" but that's just what made him hate the world and accept Madara's ideology not what made him want to make the IT.

i love his and madaras anti naruto and jaraiya theme. its awesome. rin was his iruka and when he saw that she died to the guy who obito asked to protect her he couldnt accept it and endure. he didnt have anyone to snap him out of it. kamui literally seperates him from contact like a hug and the real world.

he fought minato to erase his past self and teach minato about loss. madara taught him how to manipulate people, like nagato, kisame, sasuke etc.
obito is relatable bc people do change and give up. in the end he was able to entrust to a comrade again and become a complete being by reuniting with rin who is part of his identity. hes showing her how strong hes gotten right now. no bakakashi allowed! :]

i disagree with you on somepoints as i find obito to be a pretty complex character but yeah he's a very well written character and definetely i share some traits with obito therefore a character with a realistic personality

i think some people have an issue with how his development after the mask came off was handled. tobi never spoke of or thought about rin and kakashi before, bc it was supposed to be a mystery who he was lol

he's complex in some ways and straight forward in other ways just like his foil Naruto

true mystery always makes characters and things more interesting and alluring. Once we knew all there was to know about Tobi he was no longer as interesting, and many people who didn't really get his character were very disappointed. Naruto is far from a simple story and some people refuse to believe that, so they over simplify things and thus hate on them because if you take it at face value yeah it comes across as pretty absurd, just like with Itachi's story.

Yes Obito was not a bad character to begin with, he just being manipulated and in turn clouded his judgement.
