How long do you think the war took place? 1year? 2? Do you think that the war ended in Kakashi gaiden? Obviously not. We've seen that even after destroying the bridge, Kakashi and Rin were fighting elsewhere. We've seen the skirmich between Minato, Raikage and Bee. So how do you know when exactly a 4years old Itachi saw what was happening. Years of war could have passed even after Kakashi gaiden. I think my timeline is the most accurate
Well concerning Itachi's age, it's exactly what i meant with my post. Itachi was 5years during Kyubi's attack, so obviously for a 4years old to have witness the death of those people, it means at least the war just ended a year before. Like you've said, it's possible Itachi was born during that war and that in Kakashi gaiden where i think Kakashi was 9, he was 0. I think it's the most accurate timeline at leastI just wanted to through something into your theory, but also to show you that timelines is one of those things that should be forgotten about.
But it is possible that itachi was in fact born during the 3 great war when at that time kakashi was 9 and itachi was 0. And the war went on long enough for itachi to turn 4 and witness it.
But i am still not sure.
Another example.
The kyuubi attacked 16 years ago.
If that is true and naruto & sasuke are 16 in part 2, that must mean that kakashi was 14 during the kyuubi attack.
During that time, itachi was 5, because the age gap between him and sasuke is 5. 17/18 - 12/13 = 5. Or 21-16=5. So during the kyuubi attack, when sasuke was newly born and itachi was holding him, he was 5 (itachi).
If itachi was 5, during the kurama attack and at that time, the war had ended that means that when itachi 4 and he was witnessing the 3rd war, he must have witnessed its final stages. So roughly 1 year must have passed after the war for itachi to be 5 when the kyuubi attacked
One could say thatIf this theory is true, then Rin was in love with a 6 year old while she was 10? lol.
Yeah it's what i think as well. At least it's the only way that the timeline could really be accurate. Concerning Minato's age, i also start to find it weird, but not for the same reason as you. What i find weird is that if Minato was really 22 when he died when Kakashi was 14, it means there is 8years of difference between the 2. So when Kakashi and Obito became genin(respectively at 5 and 9), Minato would have been 13, which i find too young especially judging by his appearance in the FB, but on the other side, wasn't Itachi also huge for his age? So who knows?@ Bogard, it would appear you may possibly be right. I am leaning towards itachi being born during the war and its after he matured abit (4 years old) did his eyes begin to open. That must mean when we saw team minato during the beginning of kakashi gaiden obito was 13 and kakashi was 9, if so itachi was 0.
When Itachi started to acknowledge the current situations at the age of 4, kakashi was 13 and obito 16.
If obito was pronounced dead at 13 and he is 16 that must mean that he spent at least 3-4 years with madara.
Which means that the 3rd great war lasted roughly 4-5 years because itachi at the age of 5 was when obito attacked. So if itachi is 5 that must mean kakashi was 14, which means that obito was indeed 17, which explains the extra 1 year from the time itachi witnessed final stage of the war at 4 to when the kurama attacked at 5.
Bogard you are right, it makes more sense this way. But that means that Minato isn't 22 like you claimed in another thread though i have always said he was in his mid 20's.
Its hard to believe that there was only roughly a 5 year age gap between obito and his sensei, meaning we can push minato's age back perhaps a further 3 years and say he died around 25.

Wow nice explanation, you really worked for it. I agree with everything you saidWell it seems that you have already come to the same conclusion I did Blaze but ill post it anyway. Ill just use the same post I used before.
Kakashi: Graduated from the academy age 5
Became Chunnin at age 6
Obito: Graduated from the academy age 9
Became Chunnin at age 11
But they were both in the chuunin exams together as seen in Obito's flashback (proving that Obito and Kakashi were both genin together).
So at the absolute minimum, Obito is 3 years older than Kakashi (since the difference between Kakashi's chunnin age and Obito's academy grad age is 3) but more than likely 4 years older from looking at it. This is irrefutable, the only other explanation is that Kishi has made a big mistake somewhere.
So from this we can figure out that:
1) Kakashi was 9 or 10 during Kakashi Gaiden (when he became Jonin).
2) 4 or 5 years had passed from Kakashi gaiden to Obito fighting Minato.
3) Obito was 17 or 18 when he fought Minato.
4) The 3rd Shinobi war continued for 3 or 4 years after Kakashi Gaiden (from working out Itachi's age at the time of the war and when the 9 tails attacked Konoha). And like you mentioned already, Itachi would have just been born or unborn during Kakashi Gaiden.
From further info I was able to conclude that Obito is in fact 4 years older than Kakashi. How?
We can see from their graduation ages that Kakashi became Chunin the following year after becoming Genin, whereas Obito failed to become Chunin at the time Kakashi did, and became Chunin the following year after that.
As Obito was 11 when he became Chuunin and 13 during Kakashi Gaiden (when Kakashi became Jonin), this means Obito was already Chuunin for around 2 years before Kakashi became Jonin.
So basically its like this:
Both Obito and Kakashi become Genin,
A year later Kakashi becomes Chunin,
A year later Obito becomes Chunin,
2 years later Kakashi becomes Jonin.
As you can see, this would mean that Kakashi became Jonin 3 years after he become Chunin. We know he became Chunin aged 6, meaning Kakashi became Jonin aged 6 + 3 = 9.
Conclusion? Obito is 4 years older than Kakashi.
YupDidnt kakashi became jonin like few days b4 gaiden?
Haha so it seemsI'd hang myself if im a teen gettin my ass whooped by a 9 year old. Wait...did rin like kakashi????? Dafuq???
Now that i think about it, Kakashi's age during Kakashi gaiden was never revealed. We know he became genin at 5, chunin at 6, but nothing mentions at what age exactly he became jounin(not even databook). Only Obito's age of death was revealed(13). So we know Obito was 13 during Kakashi gaiden, but what about Kakashi's age? We all came to the conclusion that since they were in the same team, they were the same age, but i think it was a mistake. It doesn't make sense. I'll explain why
Kakashi and Obito did not advance at the same rate.
Kakashi became genin at 5 according to databook.
Obito became genin at 9
We know that they entered Academy at the same time, which already prove that there is a 4year difference between the 2

Like i've said, Kakashi became genin at 5 when Obito became genin at 9. A year later(so Kakashi being 6 and Obito 10) they participated at the same chunin examYou must be registered for see images

Jealous of his rival, Obito trained in order to pass the next chunin exam, a year later(at 11)

So like you can see, it coincidate with what databook says concerning it. Obito really became chunin at 11(when Kakashi was 7)
And it's 1 or 2years later somewhere before the start of Kakashi gaiden, that Kakashi became jounin

So during Kakashi gaiden, Kakashi was 9, not 13 like we believed. Obito is the one who was 13(Rin as well since she followed the same steps Obito did)
That also explains the significant difference in size between the Kakashi in Kakashi gaiden and the one during Kyubi's attack. The same goes for Obito. So, nope, not only 1 or 2years passed between Kakashi gaiden and that event, but many more. We know Kakashi was 26/27 at the start of the serie, so during Kyubi's attack that happened 12years before, he was 14/15. Since Obito is 4years older, he was 18/19 during the Kyubi's attack
Hope you enjoyed reading U_U
You mean when Minato died? According to my timeline he was 22, but i start to think he would be too young. This is the thread anyway:Actually, this is very plausible.
However, if Kakashi was 9 during the Kakashi Gaiden, and he appears to be 16 or so during the Nine-Tails' Attack, then just how old was Minato?

Omnipotent? Never knew xD And no, Minato can't be older than 25. Shikaku, Choza and others were 25 during Kyubi's attack and they are supposed to be older than MinatoI read the thread; my signature responds to your signature. Yeah, that would be too young. I'm thinking 27 again.
He was 4 when the war was ending, not in Kakashi gaiden. I believe the war lasted more than 4 or 5years. So the Kakashi gaiden event happened when Itachi was 0. So when Kakashi was 9 during Kakashi gaiden, Itachi was 0. When Itachi was 4 like you say, Kakashi was 13If Itachi was 4 at the time of war - given Obito's statement - then that would make him only 5 years younger than Kakashi, when we are aware that Itachi was 18 and Kakashi 27 when they faced each-other - as it's the end of the first arc. That would make him 9 years younger than Kakashi. Your time-line doesn't quite fit.
Minato can't be older than 25. Shikaku, Choza and others were 25 during Kyubi's attack and they are supposed to be older than Minato
