I know it's not instant, but it's still plenty fast. There are times such as the Lightning Circus and the Rasenshuriken where he had no excuse not to use it.

He was blinded by Lightning Circus and Madara was right beside him using Preta Path to counter that while Obito shielded his eyes with his arm.

Then as I already pointed out with the Rasenshuriken, where it cut off the connection between him and the Juubi. Even if Naruto were to Melee him afterwards, his cloak would have been absorbed and it would have just been a regular punch at best.

Obito hasn't even used shinra tensei, chibaku tensei or most likely any of the paths technique, he was about to use human realm on Anko to gain intel but kabuto refused(I'm not sure if it was in the manga since I saw it in anime. If it wasn't shown in the manga then my sincerest apologies lol), I think his rinnegan is for show besides the six paths jinchuuriki I haven't seem him do much with rinnegan...... Why did kishi gave him the rinnegan anyway :eww:??

preta path doesn't waste chakra, it restores it....so there would be no point in not using it; it would actually be more beneficial than kamui

Obito even Stated that he can revive Madara [who died years ago] with Rinne Tensei which is the 7th path indicating that He can use any tech he wants, It just wastes more chakra to use With one Eye instead of 2 being balanced.

That is the reason why Obito will die if he used Rinne Tensei on Madara because He only possess one eye and it takes more chakra to use a tech than someone like Nagato who had both eyes.

Also, Kamui is Better than using Preta path in most situations because why not phase through it rather than Using a tech that leaves you venerable to getting attacked while Sucking up chakra.

As the title says, I have discovered that Obito most likely does not posses Preta Path. It was speculated before that due to him having only 1 rinnegan, he doesn't have all the abilities.....yet there are still many who assume that this is not the case.

However, after re-reading some chapters, I believe I have discovered that he does not possess the ability to absorb chakra.

First off, Obito says to Madara that he didn't use the Juubi's TBB to wipe out the shinobi alliance because Obito would get hit by the blast as well. If Obito could absorb chakra, then why would Madara worry?

The second instance was when Naruto threw the Rasenshuriken at Obito. Obito used kamui to dodge that tech, not the Preta Path which then separated his control from the Juubi. If he were to use Preta Path, he would still have been connected to the Juubi.

Next is when Obito didn't use preta path to absorb the TBB and instead used Kamui.

and right after, he didn't use Preta Path to block Naruto's Rasengan.

and here's the biggest reason, even though it was the least noticeable.

When the Shinobi Alliance used Laser Circus to blind Madara and Obito, Madara used Preta Path to suck it up while Obito was still incapacitated by the blinding light. If Obito did indeed have Preta Path, then why didn't he use it just as Madara did to prevent himself from being blinded?

For your first reason, its completely off. Being within the range of a blast has nothing to do with the preta path. The path gives the ability to absorb chakra, not a gigantic explosion caused by the tbb.

The second he simply prefers his kamui, and the alliance would have disconnected him from the juubi with ease even if he did attempt to use preta path

Third reason was plot and slow reaction time

there are countless times in Naruto manga where a character did not Use a jutsu they knew to easily counter something. Doesn't mean that character can't use it.

Kishi does this and it is called plot.

We can't have obito spam Shinrai tensei or Soul removal tech on kakashi who lost to deva path without a fight.

but Obito has failed to use preta many numerous times....or at all when it could have gave him an advantage

sure this does happen with characters, but not all characters had the chance to fight as long as him. How many chapters was Obito vs Naruto/alliance already?

yet we haven't seen preta or shinra tensei even once

besides if he does have preta, that would make him virtually invincible since he can absorb any jutsu and warp out of the ones he can't absorb.....there would be no way to defeat him


and I'm going to just assume that he will eventually face Naruto 1v1.....and if he has preta+kamui, naruto can't really do anything about it
