Do you guys agree with obama's planned immigration policy?

If you do, why?
if not, what would you do differently?

Off topic: do you think there needs to be immigration reform?

Seems to me Obama would rather have everyone registered instead of having some loose cattle running around unmarked.
But I guess there are some legit benefits for the people, also.

Emigration to the West in General should stop.
Obama is an illegal pres and he doesn't represent over 70% of the US population.

immigration is a thorny topic for me. I don't agree that people should be letting in all these immigrants because its not good for the country for many reasons. Yet on the other hand they are people and are entitled to a better life. So I partially agree and disagree with the passage of Obama's bill. I also feel like its not going to get through, John Boehner and the majority republican house will not allow it and gridlock it

My brother's wife (fiance at the time) immigrated from Canada. It cost thousands of dollars for her to get here, transfer everything, get a Social Security Number, she and my brother had to provide proof of their relationship (letters, emails, text messages, etc) and a multitude of paperwork and interviews with both governments. Then she was not allowed to see my brother for six months while all the documentation went through, and once she got here, they had 6 months to get married or she'd be deported.

On the other side of the U.S., Mexicans enter illegally. Can't say I blame them.

Anyhow, I say if illegal immigrants are productive in society, we can work with them to grant them citizenship. If not, try to get them to be productive or say "bye bye".

Also work to tone down the excessiveness of the legal immigration process. But definitely keep that border fence up and running.

For me, immigration is a major topic, but I disagree with obama's policy. I don't agree with allowing illegal immigrants into the US and not making them pay for anything. basically costing taxpayers millions....

Sides why come up with a new policy when you can just enforce the ones you already have?

hmm im not gonna lie i did not read but he wants to make everyone that comes over legal or with visas ...they are doing this because they are not making any money from them....the gov't(feds) POV is that if you wanna live and work here you have to be taxed....it's all about the money bro....this world is a business, greece, argentina, germany, those are not nations (apple ,google, att, BP) those are the nations of the world today.

Because the people that immigrate illegally are starving, financially impoverished, and the system takes too damn long to obtain citizenship in a timely matter. These people don't have the luxury of abiding by the current rules. They need more ways to more easily obtain citizenship. The current ways just lead to a flood of illegal immigrants that never have the money or time to obtain citizenship. So they either live poorly in the U.S. until they die or get deported. System's broken, needs fixing.

The iffy part is if they actually address what needs to be addressed for once.

I agree it is broke. Still not like any of his plans have turned things around. If anything its gotten worse. I see no reason coming up with something outta of the blue. He just needs to work with what's in front him.

If I were to immigrate I would probably choose one of the Scandinavian countries, for the weather.

That's simply because nothing has been done. Recent state laws attempting to stifle immigration have made it worse. The only thing the Executive branch has done so far in that respect is offered pardons to those who were in the States with a good track record and currently pursuing an education. (And that was late in 2012.) Obama so far hasn't touched immigration. We're seeing his first attempt right here...well, maybe his. But more likely Congress will get something done first as they're pursuing it currently and Obama has promised his own bill won't go forward if Congress reaches an agreement.
