That's simply because nothing has been done. Recent state laws attempting to stifle immigration have made it worse. The only thing the Executive branch has done so far in that respect is offered pardons to those who were in the States with a good track record and currently pursuing an education. (And that was late in 2012.) Obama so far hasn't touched immigration. We're seeing his first attempt right here...well, maybe his. But more likely Congress will get something done first as they're pursuing it currently and Obama has promised his own bill won't go forward if Congress reaches an agreement.

Sorry edited. Like I said work with what's already in front of ya. Like that man I forgot his name. Lost his child in the school shooting. He said he did not believe a new law for guns was needed to be added but, rather enforce the ones that were already there. The same concept can be applied to any policy or law.

The way I see it the process of legally immigrating into the country has gotten too difficult. We're a country of immigrants built by immigrants for immigrants. By making this process impossible to achieve for poorer people, we're betraying the foundations of our country.

Obviously, the issue of immigration revolves around our Southern border. And I have to look at it from these people's perspective. They come from countries where stories of headless bodies left by the roadside and drug wars are daily news. They don't have the money or time to legally enter the U.S. so what other choice do they have? Would you not do the same in their shoes? All they're trying to do is ensure the safety and happiness of themselves and their family.

So any plan to fix immigration should:
A.) Secure borders. I'm pro immigration, but not pro illegal immigration.
B.) Streamline and cheapen the process.
C.) Provide a path to citizenship for current illegal immigrants (unless they're tied to criminal behavior).

Good answers to a nice thread. At this point it is impractical to just round em up and send em home! We have to secure the border first and foremost. Anyone here have any idea what would happen if you got caught sneaking into Mexico? Bad Bad News! the last place on earth you want to be is in a Mexican prison if you aren't shot first! Why should we be any different? Sadly this issue has become purely political by the left and Obama who see this as guaranteed votes for the left like the black vote it's all about free stuff and who votes to get more. Also consider the economic impact on the Mexican economy if we deported millions back over the border.. Illegals send so much money back home to relatives and family that it accounts for a significant percentage of the Mexican economy it would collapse in ruins! The worst thing is most of them come here want all the benefits (and get them in Calif etc..) yet don't make any effort or want to speak English at all consider themselves Mexicans not Americans and from where I'm posting this many believe we stole Texas from Mexico and still think it's there's and have an attitude about it! Yet we are a nation of immigrants my family came from Ireland in the 1840's to escape famine... Like so many of Obanutjob's policies we'll get a poorly conceived load of garbage rammed up our noses billed as "Comprehensive" instead of one well thought out piece at a time.. too bad!

I still can't find many who admit they voted for Obazoid but I sure hear them wonder what the hell he's doing!
