lol xD... I think it is some kind of counter to Amaterasu... or some sort of gengutsu, not a counter for sharingan, coz if I remember well, sasuke couldnt read naruto's movements when he was covered by Kyuubi's Cloak.

Itachi cares for Naruto and doesn't want him to have to kill his best friend....
BUT if Sasuke attacks Konoha (like he is now) the power is Naruto's ability to kill Sasuke!

I think Itachi gives him something to block MS attacks cuz he wants to be sure that konoha will be protected

wen sasuke and itachi were fightin both of them usin Sharingan but itachi had the edge wen he was usin MS lol and sasuke still managed to defeat him

if it was a non- sharingan itachi would've killed him

Sorry for the capitalized words..^_^..anyway..yeah i really think the power is counter for sharingan..itachi knew that naruto is very weak in sharingan attacks..specially genjutsus..he always gets caught with it..or if its not a counter sharingan..its a power to control the kyuubi..because thats what naruto is lacking..he isnt like bee that can fully control the 8 tails..remember that no genjutsus or illusion thingy can pass through bee because he is one with the 8 tails..the 8 tails can just wake him up..but naruto doesnt have that kind of connection with 9 tails..

because we all know that sharingan users can tame the 9 tails..like when madara tamed the 9 tails..maybe itachi learned this skill too..to control the 9 tails..and gave that ability to naruto..and besides it will be cool if naruto has sage power and kyuubi control..he will be really strong at that point.

i think he gave naruto his own sharingan

cuz wat can go against amatarasaru another MS user think bout sasuke eyes activated wen tobi revealed his sharingan and how did tobi survive he used his own EMS to seal the amatarasaru extingushing the flames

and also to keep the nine tailed fox chakra usage low remember hw sasuke surpressed kyuubi's chakra

and that genjutsu thing can only be blocked by another sharingan user

in this case naruto and his MS

oh yh he learned the sage arts thats a big boost aswelll

think bout it Sharingan activated when usin Sage mode thats a hard hittin combo

Now what would be even more awesome is if Kishi makes a huge twist in the plot....Sasuke is actually Naruto's long lost brother and because Itachi gave naruto the Sharingan when Naruto kills Sasuke he kills his best friend and brother!!! Thus he gets EMS! Then he uses EMS, Sage Mode, and the Kyuubi's power to become hokage. The End. LOL
