I've read the rules right now and FAQ regarding missing threads, and I thought I'd chime in a much needed suggestion. To be blunt, I find it stupid how while I was gone for a nap I woke up and found my American Civil War thread deleted without an explanation. The established protocol is to go and ask a mod from the corresponding section why such thread was deleted. The rules also stipulate that the thread will be deleted with or without notice. Here's what I want to change. Assuming the thread isn't egregiously contraventional or incorrigibly bad, then I suggest the mods notify the thread maker with a warning to mend the thread or have it deleted. Again, that's assuming the thread can be fixed and made palatable. If not, at least a notice should be made to the thread maker letting them know why their thread was deleted. The same way when someone is banned we give them a notice of the reasons for their ban, we should make it a part of the system where a message is sent to the thread maker letting them know why their thread got deleted.

1. It's less tedious of having to look for the thread, then find out whether it was banned or not, then ask a moderator from that section why it was banned.

2. It sends a message to thread maker letting them know what they're doing wrong and acts as a necessary admonishment and informal warning.

A simple message explaining or mentioning why your thread got banned would be nice to incorporate into the system. We have these same messages for warnings, infractions, and bans, so why not a message for deleted threads?

Deleted threads are deleted for a reason. Your thread broke the forum rules.which you can read here. you are not allowed to make threads regarding another member. It is considered spam.

The staff shouldn't have to explain every little thing when they complete their job.

A.) It is repetitive because more times than not. Most people know what they are doing is against the rules but they do want they want to. And if you tell them why your thread is deleted. They are going to throw a tantrum knowing the thread/post went against the rules.

B.) It is overall pointless. It is adding more work to the staff wich is not necessary

If you have a question regarding why something may have happened. You can ask in the Q&A.

How about you stop playing mod right now and start sounding a little more intelligent and less jejune. My thread wasn't about a member, it was about a prediction that a member so happened to have made. "The staff shouldn't have to explain every little thing", well, sorry to burst your bubble kid but they sort of do anyways with messages regarding infractions, warnings and bans. A simple message for deleted threads doesn't sound dumb, it's just that mod sycophants like you think that any suggestion is somehow a recalcitrant attack on the system and thus feel compelled to officiously repudiate any idea offered.

Edit: I just realized I came off as aggressive. Excuse my temper, I didn't get the best of sleeps today.

I'm not playing anything. I'm telling you the truth to why your thread was deleted.

You made the thread title with that member's name. You mentioned him multiple times in the thread. That's making a thread on a user. Which is against the rules.

Infractions/bans are different from deleted posts/threads. Not everything requires a explanation. And like I said if you want a explanation ask a mod who mods that section (which can be found on that section bottom page) or in Q&A.

That's not how vBulletin works by default, so it would require to write a whole plugin for this version of vbulletin for it to be possible unless there already exist plugins created for this. However even if there would exist a plugin, it's not certain it will work together with our somewhat custom ways of removing threads.

So with that said, I don't think this is something we would put work into, as users as well can subscribe to threads or bookmark them to be able to find them easily or notice that they are removed.
